AC tech said the contactor needed replacing to the tune of 500 bucks. I declined and purchased this replacement. After some quick homework, replacement was simple and the compressor no longer power cycles during a cooling cycle (not the reason for the replacement however there you have it). Comparing old new, the older switch contacts were pitted/corroded, most likely causing the mysterious drops.Having replaced the capacitor a year ago, the compressor/fan start/stop like a bossupdate 11/18/2024 - this contactor has survived one season of pretty heavy use, compressor sounded noticably smoother and hasn't cut off/on.

Great value...buy two for the extra insurance. Consider how many cycles in one day these go through in one season.
