The build of this product is solid and the design works. But for travel it is a bit large. It is mainly a cylinder with a spring-loaded clamp at the bottom and a magnetic disc at the top. It comes with an optional tripod leg gadget that can screw into the bottom of the cylinder to just stand the device up on a flat surface. But moments after I ordered it I saw a much more cleverly designed device that folds into a tight little rectangular cube. I think this product would work well enough on a plane, but it is just so much larger than the alternative that I don’t see myself using it for travel. I will instead use it as a desk stand at home for holding my phone for FaceTime calls.Good build and design but a little large for travel.

Strong magnet. I use it to hold my iPad. Installed thin metal to back of my iPad. Very comfortable. Light weight but sturdy.

The magnetic ring here is super strong. It holds my iPhone and even an iPad with a stick-on ring with no issues. Be sure to put the stick-on ring underneath a thin case though because this thing will actually pull the ring off.The clamp is just a spring clamp and it is pretty tough to pull out far enough to clamp onto things (my kid can't quite do it). Once on though, it stays in place pretty well. If using this for airplane travel (which is what I wanted it for) I found that it really only works on the edge of a tray table, and then it sits pretty low for an adult. If you clip it onto the back of the seat in front of you it works but it ends up sticking out far enough that it feels like it is right in your face.If you want to use this just a tripod though, it works well.

I fly frequently for work and am always looking for gadgets to help make travel easier. This device is great not just for flying, but for anywhere! Since I review a lot of products, it will also help me be able to record videos since it can hold my phone while I’m working with the product.The device is very versatile as you can see in my photos. The clip at the bottom of the main base extends and is spring loaded so you can attach it to anything that’s not very thick. Because the magnetic head spins 360°, you can be creative about how and where you attach it.If you use the feet that screw into the bottom, the device becomes a tripod that is very stable. The magnet on the head is very strong, but not so strong you can’t remove your phone with relative ease. The carrying strap is handy because you can clip it into your bag and avoid the fear of losing it.This is a really well designed, sturdy device that is also a very good bargain.

Just not really impressed with this. I might take it with me for the airplane, but the extension part is very minimal, so I'd look for something else that can extend more,

I think it works very nicely. It clamps pretty solidly to anything square under about an inch in thickness. It has feet that can be splayed to provide a mobile phone stand. It grips wonderfully to the mag safe ring on the phone case giving a solid connection. Very happy with it.

So, I kind of have a love hate relationship with this item. I love how it adheres magnetically to my phone case with a strong hold. However, I find that it is a bit top heavy for practical use. The base clip can be extracted for clipping to a table or glove box, etc, and that works very well. But, I do not have good luck with the tri-pod base. The heavy phone on top tends to overpower the tall skinny pole and tripod making it pretty unsteady for most uses. I was able to use it successfully on a tabletop, but for use in a vehicle, on a plane, train, cruise ship, the tri-pod feature has proven to be not the best as it wants to fall over frequently. So, I will use this strictly with the retractable clip as that works for me.

I liked this product! It worked great on the plane for spring break. I could move it between landscape and portrait view without issues. It was tricky to attach to the tray, but it was nothing to discourage someone from buying it. It was a small learning curve. I like the fact that it's very compact.
