These inserts do what you would want them to do and could be perfect, except that the shafts of the router bits fit too tightly. Large bits are nor much of a problem, but small bits are difficult to grip tightly enough to remove.

I made a holder for all my router bits. This is great, they are finally safely stored with worries about destroying their cutting edges, and the bits are much easier to find as well.

These tightly grip the router bit shanks...almost too tightly. That's fine with my large diameter panel raising bits, since you can easily grab them and twist them out of the holders, but small diameter bits (like a 1/4" straight) are very difficult to remove. Since my trays are sitting in a drawer and the bits aren't going to fall on the ground, I'm now only using these bushings for large bits. The little ones sit directly in the holes in the tray and spaced far enough apart so they don't bang together when the drawer moves...it doesn't matter if they lean a little.

Works really well -but some of them are a real chore to get into the blocks. I don't know why it is only the outside of the molding, and not always,the inside has always worked perfect for me.

I did not buy this to be used in their rack. I was making custom bit holder to fit my router table but did not like the idea of the bits just in the wood. moisture and all. so with a 3/4in forstner bit I drilled the holes and these in the holes fit was perfect no glue needed and the Bits are easy to insert and remove.

These are great to help organize Router bits. Now I can find the bit I need at a glance. I don't have the rust problem with these bushings that I had with wood. The price was right and free shipping was good too.
