I'm an amateur weekend woodworker. I bought these router bits for making my first shaker style cabinet doors on my router table. My test runs on plywood worked very well. Be aware: the groove and tongue bits don't come from the factory configured for one another. So if you just use it out of the box, you won't have a fit. I'm not sure why they didn't get that setup. But that wasn't a problem really. I just unbolted the groove bit and removed 3 washers 0.1 mm (541.515.00) + 0.1 mm (541.515.00) + 0.5 mm (541.517.00) from between the two cutters. Then fit was perfect! Took 10 minutes. I could have also done it in reverse, adding washers to the tongue bit. The set comes with extra washers both on the top of each bit and in an included small bag). I suppose that if you're looking for adjustable bits, then you're game for this kind of re-shuffling of washers to get the exact fit you're looking for.Few thoughts: Digital calipers were very helpful. I have the iGaging set that measures both inside and outside dimensions. Metric measurements made more sense to me, when adding and subtracting washers, since the small washers are evenly 0.1, 0.3, 0.5, and 1.0 mm. This is the only bit set I've seen that comes with a handy chart for various measurements of tongue and grooves. There's a paper version in the box, and you can download a PDF from the CMT website. I like the guide, but I haven't had the experience of trying to follow them exactly to see how well the chart works. Working with calipers and knowing the size of the washers, adding and subtracting, was easy enough for me. The cut was fine. I'll try on hardwoods as next steps. Knowing that my other CMT bits are high quality, I expect it will cut just fine.

The tongue did not fit in the grove no matter what combination of shims. Perfect groove for a 5/32 plywood. But I had to make a second pass with adjusting the router to make the tongue fit with out splitting the wood

I had a lot of chip out on some oak stiles. Never had that problem with my Frued or Rockler bits.
