We wanted an affordable desk and chair for our living room to create a work space behind our couches. This was a great price point, was delivered promptly and was easy to assemble. Took less than an hour and I did it myself. We have had for a few months now and it has remained sturdy and scratch-free even with daily use. The color of the desk matched the rest of our furniture well and it looks like it should be worth much more than what we paid.

I took a risk and ordered this desk and chair set based on the pictures and positive reviews. I'm writing to say how pleased I was with the quality of the materials, the fit and finish, and the overall expensive look considering the reasonable price. The desktop is beautiful. There are four inlaid wood panels in the center with contrasting shades of wood and grain. These panels are then framed within a highlighting border with 45 degree joints at the corner. Not only that but the stain on the wood is done so that the edges are darker and then transition to a lighter color which really adds depth to the lines and gives a burnished look to the legs, the drawer faces and the desktop. As far as I can tell most pieces are solid wood with the exception of the desktop which has the veneer inlays for that extra expensive look. I have other Coaster furniture I purchase recently and I'm very happy with the quality and price.In regards to the assembly instructions, I have only one tip. Make sure the back of the seat cushion is flush with the wooden frame before putting in the four screws. The rear legs and chair back butt right up against the seat cushion. I mistakenly centered the seat cushion on the wooden frame, screwed it on and then realized the cushion was too far back to attach the back of the chair.

I gave this desk and chair a 5 star rating because I was a little hesitant ordering a piece of furniture on line.But once it arrived packed very well! The picture on line was a perfect match. We are PLEASED!We loved the easy assembly, It took around 45 minutes. Very sturdy, And looks GREAT!!We purchased these items for our daughter who is a college student, It was perfect in every way for us.

This desk is beautiful. It is very well made. The color is more of a deep cherry rather than "brown" with a nice sheen. It arrived very well packed and the instruction was extremely easy to follow. The desk and chair took about a half-hour to put together. Everyone who has seen this desk and chair set up in my home always comments about how lovely it looks. I would not hesitate to purchase another Coaster product.

The desk went together easily (and looks really good), but the chair's bolts did not line up enough to screw them in. I'm currently using another chair because I could not get it together after numerous tries.
