My neighbor kept giving us young coconuts but then we had to keep having him open them for us. No more. We can open them ourselves now. Metal tool is weighty enough and I feel I can trust it to give me a lot of opened coconuts. One thing though - On hindsight, I wish I would have spent the money and got the one with the scrapper tool. (My neighbor said the meat is real good when eaten with avocado).

This is great for opening coconuts - the quality is excellent and feels good to use. The core remover is sharp and very substantial too.This rubber hammer is very useful for so many jobs around the house too - you wont be disappointed.

The rubber parts have very strong odor. Such strong that you can hang an iron in the air. This item must be removed from the market as toxic.

The kit provides a silicone mat with honeycomb texture, a wooden mallet with silicone/ rubber head, and a long handle coconut flesh scoop.The kit works really well. The texture on the mat makes it very grippy and saves the coconut from being launched when hit.The mallet is rubber which is not so great as you will need to apply more force but it also means you are less likely to just make a small hole and more likely to crack it open. The rubber also saves damaging any surfaces.The scoop works very well. It is big though so you will have to crack the coconut fully open to get into it scoop out. The scoop is steel and scoops the shell easily.With a bit of practice this kit can make the whole process much easier and far faster. Good quality and value m recommended.
