Heavy duty little addition to your coffee making experience. This thing reduced the noise produced from me banging and tamping on the counter. I have a small spot on my counter where I left a permanent mark from doing this a little too hard....and now I can rest easy knowing I'm not going to do that again with this beefy little accessory. If you make espresso daily, just give it a try. It's inexpensive and great quality.

Is it wonderful, great, perfect? I don't think so. Does it do the job and protect my counter? Yup. There are plenty of other choices that offer essentially the same thing for less right here on Amazon.

I’ve tried six different tamping stations and they’re either too thin, too flat (stir sticks and such roll off) or hard to clean, but this one is a true Goldilocks!Pro’s:1. It’s THICK - at least 2X thicker than others I have tried.2. It’s well designed - the circular divots secure a distributor and a tamper, and the lined and dotted section hold little tools, or are great places to set cups or milk steaming jugs (hot or cold).3. The actual tamping portion (semi-circle in front) works great for spouted or bottomless portafilters. It’s enough space to feel like the portafilter is fully supported.4. It’s easy to clean. Just shake it over a sink, or if it’s really dirty run some water over it and it looks new.Con’s:1. It needs to sit at the edge of a counter.Overall - a strong buy!

I recently purchased this coffee espresso tamping mat, and it has noticeably improved my home espresso-making experience. The mat feels durable and stable while tamping the coffee, and I've observed a significant reduction of noise compared to tamping directly on my countertop.The mat is very thick, which provides excellent support and protection. One minor issue is that it doesn't really stick well to my particular countertop surface. However, this hasn't been a major problem in practice.This is a good product for making your espresso shot at home. I appreciate that it have space for you to put the coffee tamper on, keeping everything organized. It also does a great job of preventing scratches on my countertop.Considering the quality and features, and that it's available for under $20, I recommend this product.

As I have been getting more in tune with my espresso machine, I needed to upgrade my work area. First off, there is zero smell coming off this unit from the package. This is about 1/2” thick rubber so it is very solid to work on and I don’t feel like I will damage my counter.It has spots for my tamper, leveler, brush, whisk and still has a ton of room to work. Cleanup is a breeze by just brushing off the grind debris. Overall this is a great purchase and solid upgrade from my old flimsy one.

If there's coffee involved, i'm going to be all in facilitating the production of a good cup of coffee. I can't make a decent cup of coffee if my life depended on it. My hubby is the coffee maker in the family, he fancies himself a distant cousin of a Barista or was one in another life. I have no problem with that. What I do have a problem with is cleaning up the coffee grounds that spread across my countertops and of course the damage to my countertop due to tamping the portafilter directly on it without any protection. I'm waiting for my new countertop installations and of course, hindsight is 20/20, so i'm doing everything possible to protect them from scratches and getting into a new habit so our new ones won't get damaged by everyday use. I saw this tampering mat by sheer chance and the design called my attention. It sits right on the edge of the counter and the material provides stability so that it doesn't slide around when it's being used. I love it because of the functionality and my husband loves it because it gives him a level tamp, which makes for a better extraction and the end result is a better cup of coffee. It is super easy to clean, just run it under water to clean any spilled coffee grounds, dry it and use it again. It doesn't need any special storage, I keep mine on the counter edge all the time.

This really is a great mat. It is a flat mat, not a box. I guess that's obvious from the photos, but I didn't pay that much attention to it, before.It has spots to sit tools, and a half-circle cut to place the portafilter for tamping.It cleans SUPER easily. I literally just rinse it in the sink for a few seconds and it looks brand new. The silicone feels like very, very nice quality.I don't have TONS of space on my coffee bar, and this has actually helped organize it a bit. Would I recommend it? Yes! Do I think the price is fair for it? Well, I'm pretty cheap so before using it, I would have looked for something lower priced. But after using it for a bit, I'd say it's good for the price.

My espresso station takes up a large amount of countertop real estate, so the nice wooden tamping stations aren't something I have room for. While searching for a simple solution, I came across this particular silicone tamping mat.Its made of very thick silicone, built to last awhile. The width of it is plenty of room for laying your portafilter down while dosing the basket, WDT and whatnot. 2 58mm indentions for holding your tamper/leveling tool. The half portafilter notch at the edge work well for when tamping your grounds down. It cleans up easily, most the times I just rinse off under the faucet, but for the times I need to deep clean, it cleans up easily in the dishwasher.If you're looking for something that is minimal in size to stow away easily, easy to clean up and hold all your espresso tools while making a good shot of spro, give this a try!
