The Two Handed Great Sword is a very large sword. But don't let its size fool you, as there is nothing awkward or clumsy about this awesome sword. Sure it's big and meant to be carried over the shoulder instead of in a scabbard, but it's extremely well balanced and easily wielded by people of larger stature and physical strength. Weighing 6 lbs. 13.5 oz. with a 397/8" high carbon steel blade, it will make short work of pikemen or swordsmen and will prove equally effective against modern rifle butts and bayonets. To protect the hands from opposing weapons, it features a large guard with side rings plus integral parrying hooks that allow the blade to be shortened for close range slashing and stabbing attacks. The handle is made of wood and covered with leather and is extra long to afford a full two handed grip. What's more, it's capped by a heavy steel pommel that helps counter balance its long blade and serves as an effective weapon in its own right. Each sword comes fully sharpened and battle ready and you will be thrilled with its fantastic fit and finish. If you're looking for the ultimate in big performance oriented swords, your search is over. Specifications: Weight: 109.5 oz. Blade Thickness: 7/32" Blade Length: 39 7/8" Handle: 15 3/8" long. Leather Wrapped Steel: 1050 Overall Length: 55 1/4" Sheath: This Sword does not include a scabbard

Good: the sword has “good bones.” Good construction, good steel. Good enough for me to keep and use as an art project/practice item.Mediocre: this particular sword is more akin to a heavily shortened “zweihander.” If it were a foot taller than it is, it’s weight and balance would be good. As it is, it’s at least 2lbs too heavy for its length and its center of balance is at the upper end of the ricasso.Bad: the leather on the handle and ricasso is flimsy, cheap and barely secured at all: literally sewn in place and pinch secured during assembly. No glue, no pins, nothing. It looks good, but just picking it up I could feel the leather shifting as if it was loose. Could be I just got a lemon. But best be cautious.End Result: if you’re handy with a dremel/angle grinder and various leather-working tools, it’s acceptable. If you’re looking for a big sword that’s more historically accurate and good quality, save up, be patient and look elsewhere.

It came pretty sharp on arrival. The handle was a bit different in the way they stitched the leather on, but very comfortable and surprisingly grips well. Has a great flex to it and so far remained true even after chopping down a tree with a trunk diameter of approximately 7”. Sliced through most saplings of 1-2” diameter on a single swing without feeling next to no resistance, and that was with factory edge. The finish on the blade is near mirror. The guard rings and has a slight wiggle to it, but even with pulling on it feels very secure otherwise.

Definitely Worth Your Money!Just expect the box to be completely destroyed by the time it is delivered.Sword is SUPER SHARP, and it DOES NOT COME WITH A SHEATH!! So be aware of that. The sword does weigh like 6lbs. And I've used it to cut some branches. Cuts hella well.

so I have four points, 1 the last guy to complain about packaging did so a year ago and when I got mine it was in the modern cold steel packaging and was unchanged and fine no it wasn't in a embossed wooden presentation case but considering what i paid and what I got i don't care. 2 this is a sword not a felling ax, i don't know what the people in these comments expect a four foot blade that's not even 38ths of an inch thick with a stick tang and a peend pomell to do in there brush cleaning escapades but that is not what this was used for five hundred years ago and that is not what it's meant to do today. 3 i will say claims of the sharpness have been greatly exaggerated wile the edge exists it no where near sharp enough for my liking its good enough to cut cardboard but something meant for fighting needs to be able to cut paper with no lateral motion but I paid a literal tenth of a custom sword this size so i guess i'm breaking out the stones.4 and one last thing anyone saying this should have a scabbard i challenge you to figure out a way to wear this thing in such a way that you can draw it without undoing you're convoluted mess of belts and if you succeed i'm willing to bet it's because you decided to lick whatever the blade is coated in and you don't have enough brain cells left to understand what you're supposed to do with the shiny sharp thing in the corner.

ok so i got the sword and the box it came in was fragile and crappy for a sword to be shipped in. i opened it up and they had the leather grip messed up, it had a slit in it. The point of the sword was destroyed. I did not wanna send it back do to it just comeing back in the same package that was sent the first time wich messed up the hand grip and sword point. so i will be sending it to a professional metal/leather crafter i know to fix the damage that it had when i got it. so if you order high amount items do not do it on amazon or it will be shiped like crap.

Overall experience - a must-have sword, but the packaging offered here is insufficient to protect the sword in shipping.Great things:1 - Massive enough to decapitate a mighty auroch with a single blow2 - Gandalf wishes he had this sword when he smote the balrog's ruin upon the mountainside3 - Because it is so huge and twice or more the weight of most other swords, it's a great strength builder for your sword arm if you do tameshigiri or iaido/kendo.4 - Great for me, since I'm tall - I'd say if you're under 5'10-6'0" you may be too small for this weapon. Here are the problems:1 - The sword does NOT come with a scabbard, even though the item description says it does.2 - The packaging is not done well. I think there's a metal plate that's supposed to guard the bottom end of the box, so that the bubble-wrapped sword (who thought of that one?) doesn't poke through the bottom. So your sword tip is going to be shipped pushing against a metal stop. That being said, the metal plate in my box was just floating around the inside, and my sword arrived with the blade sticking out of the bottom of the box (I'm sure the UPS guy loved that!). It would be so much better to have a cheap plastic cap put on the bottom of the sword, but that is not the case here. I am returning it for this reason, alone.3 - The leather wrapping forward of the hilt may be glued down, but the seam is sewed, and the thread is not tied off. So the thread is flopping around.4 - The leather wrapping on the handle is not bad, but the rings underneath the leather rise up as to create an effect similar to a tent with poles. Where the rings rise above the level of the handles, there is air space under the leather. As such, it's not like a handle wrapped with a thin strip of leather. The leather can bunch up and move around if you're doing any sort of real swinging (I was bare handed). In the end, I still like the sword, and I will have another. It's just too massive to not love.
