A warning: if you're not a needlepointer yet, this kit may be your gateway to a delightful and moderately expensive hobby. I got this for my five-year-old child to do with my mother on a visit, but my kid didn't have the patience for it and let me take over. I found the experience so wonderful that I then spent $100 on a needlepoint kit for adults—so be warned.

The kit is cute and my 5 year old and 3 year old daughters are having success with it (with a lot of help). However, the instructions are completely wrong. If you follow the order of stitches as printed, it will result in yarn just looped around the canvas with a lot of empty space. The continental stitch for needlepoint has more yarn on the back side of the canvas, creating a fuller effect. Search for instructions for the continental stitch instead of following the information that comes with the kit.I also recommend a needle threader to help get the yarn on the needle as the eye is not very large compared to typical needlepoint needles.

Prompt delivery. My grand daughter was thrilled with it. She is only 5 and caught on quite quickly. Would like to see more simple cross stitch kits.

Great for 4 and up. My granddaughter will do a little then stop. It's a great project for coordination and instruction. A 7 yr old would probably complete it in a few weeks or relaxed enjoyment.

It's great product for the girls to keep them busy and concentrated when they have free time. My 8 year old asked for it and when it was delivered she was very excited and enjoyed sewing the unicorn.

Cute colorful and easy to understand. Could be sourced cheaper at a dollar store but hey not their fault I bought it. Item is as described which is great.

This application is great! It comes with all the colored string as seen in the picture, it comes with a needle. My 6 year old daughter lovers it. I did not give it 5 stars beacuse it really needs some sort of device to help the child thread the needle.
