During the performance, the performer uses a small stick to scrape the metal scraper on Guiro's shell, creating a unique sound. Guiro's sound is crisp and unique, often used to add rhythm to music. It has a wide range of applications in Latin music, especially in Cuban and Puerto Rican music. Guiro is often used in conjunction with other percussion instruments such as the bongo and conga drums to create rich musical effects.

Cute little beginner set of Guiros. They do provide good sound, and are more designed for beginner percussionists.

I got these because I collect musical instruments. These are better than I expected. They have a surprizingly good sound for their small size. They are not too loud so they shouldn't drive parents crazy.
