The girl version of this Daytrekker pant was weirdly short so we took a chance and these worked out perfectly for my petite 11 year old on a recent trip to Iceland. For her, a light base layer fit well underneath on colder days and she could wear a Columbia rain pant on top for extra windy/wet/cold days. For hotter weather, these were great on their own. I love how they are quick-dry and have UPF protection as well. It's also nice that they can be passed down to her little brother in a few years.
