As others have said, the instructions, if included, are not very good, but there are a couple of comprehensive assembly and testing instructions you can download online. One download included schematics, which can be helpful. I have built a number of different mini frequency generators, including with the ICL8038 chip. Unfortunately, the highest frequency range (up to 400KHz) in this kit is not very stable and does not produce a clean sine wave (confirmed on my digital oscilloscope). Just to be sure, I checked all solder connections thoroughly and it made no difference. I also tested all components prior to assembly and they were all fine. This "advanced" kit has an additional TL082 op-amp to provide gain control and I think that is the problem in this design. I even substituted another another ICL8038 chip from another kit and a TL082 chip and neither made ant difference. I also made sure I had a clean 12VDC power supply. In general producing the best quality signal at any frequency on this device requires a lot of fiddling with the 6 variable resistors controls. In order to get anything that looks like a decent sine wave at any frequency, you have to get duty, gain, and the two small pots just right for each change in frequency. And many of these controls interact with each other, so finding an exact, stable frequency is way too hard. You really cannot expect too much for $10, but at the end of the day this kit is more of a learning project rather than a very useful frequency tool.Update: Seller refunded about half the purchase price. Not sure all the reasons this does not work at the highest frequency, but this thing is very susceptible to any kind of interference, particularly at higher frequencies. I ended up trying a more expensive switching power supply together with an RF filter. This helped a bit and got it working reasonably well at the 3 lowest frequency bands, but the highest band (up to 400KHz) was still not very good. Attached is a 230 KHz sine wave picture from my scope, which looks more like a triangle wave. This was terrible and not very stable. It improved a bit with the better power supply and filter and looked more like a sine wave, but it still had artifacts and stability issues. I also tried straight 12VDC using alkaline batteries and that did not really solve the problem.

The assembly instructions appears to be a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy...The letters and digits are impossible to decipher hence and it is not possible to correlate component reference designators with values for installation. No schematic provided either.Considering returning, but I will spend a little more time reverse engineering to figure out what component goes where.

The instruction page has been photocopied and re-photocopied too many times and the text is no longer readable. Instructables and YouTube both have excellent assembly guides for this product.
