This ice maker is exactly what we needed! (The one in our freezer was slow and started leaking, despite several repairs.) The ice this maker produces is not exactly chewable, but it is solid and keeps for quite a while. The bin is also a healthy size. Not quite enough for a restaurant, but more than enough for a household of four. And it's pretty quick, too. I have the cycle time set to 17 minutes and that seems to be the perfect rate for us.The goods: Compressor is quiet. Well, quieter than the fridge the maker is sitting next to. It also doesn't run very hot. (Despite having vents on all sides, the unit itself does not get very warm and I have not felt any appreciable warmth coming from it when it cycles.) And the amount of ice it can hold is VERY nice. More than enough to fill two large Yeti rambler style mugs with plenty left over.The bads: The ice is wet. I like to empty the bin and put it in the freezer so we have extra on hand. But the ice this maker produces is rather wet and the entire lot froze into a solid mass in our regular freezer. This isn't exactly a problem if you use the maker as intended. But if you like to save ice, keep a pick or hammer nearby to break it up after freezing. Also, when it drops the ice, it is quite loud. I thought something fell off the shelf the first time it dumped! Again, not the ice maker's fault. It wasn't designed to be used in a library. Just be ready for it if you're using it inside your house. Lastly, it drains a LOT. This is by design, I suppose. The older ice in the bottom of the basin melts and drains as the unit itself does not freeze the entire chamber. The last downside (and this is mentioned in the description, but I just missed it) is that it drains constantly. Ice it produces does melt and drain out in the chamber. Where I have the maker setup, there isn't a convenient drain, so I currently have it dumping into a bucket which only needs to be emptied maybe twice a week. Please be aware of the need for a nearby drain!The only real design flaw I've found is that, if you want really dense ice, it doesn't break up easily. You set the freeze time which determines how "thick" the ice is. Anything over 20 minutes and the seams between the cubes becomes too thick and it drops as a single mass that's hard to break apart. I've found 17 to be the sweet spot for thick, but still easily breakable ice.

Did not work out of the box and they went above and beyond to make it right within minutes. Even though the unit didn’t work they sent me a new one at no cost. Great experience with customer service

As soon as we received the ice maker I read everything in the directions, set it up and we had ice within minutes! Love the shape of the ice! Great machine and so easy to operate! Definitely a great edition to a household that uses lots of ice!

Makes ice quick. You have to use quickly as it does not keep it frozen. You have to use that day or day after however day after its almost melted/gone

This machine is very quiet. The first large ice cubes were made in 8 minutes and the whole basket of large ice cubes took about 1 hour 45 minutes. It makes approximately 9 large cubes at a time. It does not get hot when making the ice. The ice cubes taste good. To empty the water, there is a plug inside which makes it easy to empty. It comes with a scooper which is convenient. I recommend this ice maker.
