Lift-the-Dot hole cutter tool
Made of steel, this tool is used to cut holes in canvas, making the installation of eyelets and washers an easier process. It will reliably cut hundreds of holes when used correctly.
How to use
This tool will punch the holes in your canvas in the shape of the lift-the-dot eyelet to make fitting the eyelets a simple task. A useful tip is to have a magazine under your canvas, some people use a block of wood but I find placing a magazine or similar between the wood and canvas helps. Then place the tool in the area you want to cut the hole and strike with a hammer. The tool will then punch through your canvas and a few pages of the magazine.
This Lift-the-Dot hole cutter tool is meant to be used with Lift the dot fasteners.

Looked good, but didn't cut well at all!I have used these cutters over the years and I had one that lasted 20 years but this one doesn't cut cheeze! After 20 walks with a hammer it barly cut and I ended up cutting out the center hole with a pair of scissors. I paid a lot for it and I was very disappointed 😞

The punch arrived hardened and sharp. Judging from the finish, edges, and points, it IS new, though could be mistaken for used. I’ll use a wire brush to remove the slag/solder/grunge from around the slit punches, but you shouldn’t have to do that on a new - and relatively expensive - tool.

One of the prongs came out and turns when pushed back in.
