Honestly this NOD/thermal journey has been eye opening, after spending 20 years in the Marine Corps and spending nearly $2000+ in just parts (which doesn’t include the cost of the optics) to attach those pigs to my personal helmet made me appreciate the fact I didn’t have to pay for it when I was in. This is the only part I didn’t buy that wasn’t a true Wilcox or Knights Armament. People, the real one costs $110…. I used a Wilcox version for YEARS and this little $24 unit feels and functions EXACTLY like the same. If you’re worried just run a secondary 550 cord lead, shoot, that’s exactly what we were running before these things were invented. A little frustrated at the current market but also stoked I saved $96 buck. This is a value.

I got lazy and mounted this using Velcro and I’m glad I did. I was using a new mount and I got confused on what button was the what. I accidentally pushed the dovetail release and my PVS-14 fell off my helmet but the tether slowly caught it. If you don’t buy this one, buy some sort of tether. It’s cheap insurance.
