You can identify this transfer case by its aluminum case and it is chain driven. This transfer case will have a round tag on the rear case half and will say 242.

I refreshed my np242 transfer case, this is a cheap kit, 1 of the input bearing I took out was a double roller, the one I purchased in this kit was a single, I have no problems after this rebuild, but I'm highly concerned at how cheap the bearing are, I will be purchasing a higher quality kit from somewhere else for peace of mind, if you don't adventure like my family does this might be for you, but anyone looking for emotional reliability I would recommend finding a quality kit with better bearings, also did not come with shift selector bearing or seals and had to purchase from a local parts shop which took more time away from my build. If your seasoned this job should take 5 or less hours, let the sealant cure before filling with fluid. *UPDATE* The single bearing rolled caused the mainshaft to thrust forward and push my planetary gears into the case half destroying my transfercase on the freeway. Highly do not recommend this kit, im f@$&ing pissed about this
