I tested this on the stove top in a pot of water immediately after receiving it and it works as it should. You can find videos online of how to do this using a multimeter.UPDATE: I had to lower my review to 1 star.It took a while to find the time to install this on my KLR and take a ride. The first ride of 15 miles was fine. The fan operated as it should. However, today, I finally got around to taking a 2nd ride of 15 miles and then when I stopped the motorcycle temperature gauge climbed steadily higher into the red zone and the fan never kicked on like it should have. I verified the fuse and relay are functioning so it means this switch went bad after less than 30 miles of riding. Maybe the seller will see this and send me a replacement (or two)?

this part is coarse threaded . On a 1990 kawasaki vulcan 500 CC it is a fine thread where it goes into the housing

It turns on the fan when it should. Not much else to say.
