This 120/240 volt GE 50 amp, double pole, thin series replacement circuit breaker is used in a General Electric load center. Typical applications, up to 8,800 watts, include electric baseboard heat, fan forced heat and 240 volt air conditioners (up to 23,000 BTU). When part arrived it had a chip out of the switch, as well as a chip off one corner of the circuit breaker.

i,m a retired electrician , amazon should not be selling these ,set screws are very poor quality,was difficult to get wires fastened tight. this is not good, possible heat build up at termination . your panel box is not a place for poor quality

The breaker sent to me was used and defective, it did not output 240v across the poles, one side output 120v and the other side output 42v.

Used this to add a 240v 50A circuit on my 100A GE main service panel for a new hot tub. Worked great and only takes up the same space as a normal 120v double breaker as opposed to most 240v 50A breakers that take up twice the space.
