Both top and bottom popped off of the metal tube portion of the press each time I tried to press out a cookie. I thought maybe the dough was too hard so I let it get softer and tried again. Same result. Made sure both ends were screwed on to the tube correctly, and they were. Tried holding the bottom tightly with my hand and pressing the trigger with pressure against the tube to hold everything together but it just all came apart. I threw it in the trash and finished making my cookies with a piping tube. If I could do that then the dough was definately not to blame. The threads on the tube were not deep enough to keep the three parts together.

I hope this one works better than the last one. I haven't tried it yet.

I liked the actual press, this thing was a mess, and it was shipped from the company this way, it had been torn open and shoved in a bag and sent, all of the pieces out of box, and box just shoved in bag with press inside. It was missing at least 2 of the heads. Kind of a bummer when you are trying to bake cookies and your missing parts. Also, the plunger was bent, had to straighten out. I believe this was a return and they just turned around and shoved in a bag and sent it out. What a waste, this actually might have been a much better review, but the fact that this was packaged and sent like this does not reflect well on the company. In all fairness, I have not reached out as I am a Vine Reviewer, however I did have to pay taxes on this so, it did cost me. The press itself is fine, it is priced for what it is, this is not made for a professional baker, however for the average homeowner, its fine. After fixing the plunger, I did about 20 batches of cookies without any issues, the detail was same as other brands, and it operated exactly the same. But it was obviously damaged, missing parts, then shoved in a bag and sent back out.

Cookie presses could be something that holds out for many years or something that is not me very well and bricks easily especially the handle to pump the cookies out. I’ve been making a certain pressed cookie since 1976 when I was married to my late husband, they were I believe my mother had said on the original Book that came with her cookie press, which would’ve been at least back to the 1950s. I’ve had I believe three of them with the third one still working, but it’s a little harder economically because you have to twist the handle does not have a pump, but I followed it brand new years ago as a roomy sale for a quarter.I believe so I’ll hang onto that also. This newer one has the hand trigger, which makes it so much easier to pump out the cookie dough. The one thing I learned years ago was spray the inside of the tube that the doll goes in. It makes a huge difference and getting the dough out and the clean up too. My favorite cookie comes out of this cookie press I like the Reese shaped the best, but the tree is cute too. You can also make longer bar cookies. Between your cookie press and your imagination, you can come up with some pretty fancy cookies so far so good. It worked well if there’s a problem with it in a short time, I will update my review, but I had no problems and I will hopefully have this particular quick press for years to come.
