Here's the thing--you have to use dough that is really soft. The shapes are made of a thin metal that seems a bit flimsy. Also, the 2 rings that hold the shapes on and are attached to both ends of the metal tube is made of plastic and seems like it will also probably break. Surprisingly, it came with 1 AND ONLY 1 recipe (for a gluten-free cookie). It would really have been nice to have a bunch of recipes designed for the proper consistency and softness this requires. While it was "almost" fun, it really seemed more like an "easy bake oven" kid's toy than an actual useful addition to our kitchen.

Don’t buy. I thought I could get by purchasing a “cheaper” cookie gun. Don’t buy this unless you only use really soft dough. If the dough is real dense or if it has been refrigerated, it comes apart. I should have just spent the extra $15 and bought a nicer one.

I like this tool, but there were no discs included in the box! It did have the piping tips, but you really need the discs to truly try this out for cookies.
