This cooling car seat cushion actually works, and when it’s doing what it’s supposed to, it’s great. The gel and "ice silk" (marketing talk? Is that a thing?) combo does a solid job of keeping the seat cool, especially when the sun’s out and the car interior feels like an oven. We have leather seats in our car and on long roadtrips, they can retain heat on your rear.But here’s the catch, and it’s a big one: don’t leave it in the car when it’s parked in the heat. The same material that keeps you cool while driving turns into a heat trap if it bakes in the sun. I made that mistake once, sat down, and instantly regretted every decision that led me there. So yes, it’s great for what it’s designed to do, just take it out when your not using it.

I have to say that when I first put this in the car I was surprised at just how much of a difference I noticed. It really works to keep your rear and upper legs cool. Even when the car has been sitting in the sun, when you sit on this it prevents you from sweating so much and feels nice. It also does not have any chemical smells, which is a plus. In my large SUV, the mat stays in place well on the seat- although it doesn't quite cover the entire seat. It is comfortable and cool. The cushion is well made and stitched on the ends, so it should last. It also will return to its original shape easily, as I got the end caught under my leg and sat on it bent- by the time I got back in the car, it was straight again without me doing anything. I don't think the cushion adds much in the way of height, so if you need a booster, you may need to put something underneath the cushion.My only complaint is the size. It doesn't quite fit my seat entirely, which can cause the end to come up when I am getting into the car. It would probably be better if it came in SUV/truck size and regular sedan sizes. The price is a little high, but at the same time I do think this is a durable and useful product.Overall, great cushion for cooling and comfort. Happy to recommend!

@utos Cooling Ice Car Seat Cushion for Long Driving, Super Cold Car Cushion, Gel Seat Cushion Keep Cool for Long Car Rides. This arrived very quickly after placing my order. It enrolled nicely and lays flat on the seat as you would expect it to. It is comfortable to sit on. It does have some cooling effect although if you are going to be sitting on it for hours or days for a long trip the cooling effect is not going to last that long. I would say for me I noticed the cooling effect last for about an hour. It did seem to support me well and it seems to be sturdy. And it does not slide around the seat at all. I am happy with this order.

This is all of what it claims to be. I am OH SO VERY IMPRESSED!! I work outside on equipment in the heat of the day it works fantastic. I'm going to get another for my riding mower, and for my truck. Worth the money.

I was taken aback by how much this actually did just as described. To be clear, this was mostly something to prevent my drivers seat from deteriorating any further. But the second I sat on it I was kind of impressed with how much cooler it was.My interior is some sort of artificial material and long trips indeed will have you sweating in areas you’d rather not. So far my longest trip has been about an hour. Is it more comfortable? It must be if I forget is there and don’t notice any fatigue, but again it’s only an hour. Is it cooler? That I can definitely reply in the affirmative. You notice it at first, then you stop thinking about it. I reminded myself to notice, these kind of things just blend into the background.Want a negative? Well the only one is that every time I get into my vehicle part of the cushion folds up under me and I have to adjust. That’s it. Small price to pay for what it provides.

This is fantastic! I placed it in the seat of the car and sat down. It was noticeably cooler, even with the car not running. I had shorts on over compression shorts and where there was only compression shorts was very cool. This is a game changer if stuck in traffic, much less longer trips.
