The lamp installed so easily, I honestly didn't even need the directions. Just cut the round hole (template provided) where you want the lamp. Install it in the duct if you want the UV light to kill the following that pass by the Very Strong (36w) UV lamp:Microorganisms: that cause odors (yes, your home will have a very significant improvement air quality. That "Pet Smell," of course depending on severity and where from, may completely dissappear. Have to launder their bedding.Viruses & other Bacteria: The strong 253.7nm UVC lamp easily penetrates cell walls, tearing them apart, destroys their DNA, resulting in death.Dust Mites: One pass and the UVC destroying power kills dust mites instantly. No dust mites means no dust mite droppings, urine, and bodies are what cause allergic reactions. The lamp can also be installed above or below your A/C coil, in your furnace or airhandler. Depending on the shape of your coil (older and smaller coils are "A" shaped). In this situation I'd install the lamp under the coil so it illuminates the coil from the underside, cleaning both panels. This way you don't have to install two UVC's if I stalling from the topside. My original 30 year old Carrier coil was "A" shaped but its replacement is now like a "Z" on its side so I had to buy 2. Not a Problem at all. For less than $70, getting a high output 36w, UVC unit, PLUS YOUR FIRST REPLACEMENT BULB FOR FREE.... IT'S A NO BRAINER !! A lot of the UVC units being sold are low wattage, short bulbs. You need atleast a 36 watt UVC bulb to reach out further for an effective "Kill Zone." All those 10, 15, or 18 watt units, no matter if they're mounting 2 or 4 bulbs to a unit, still have a short effective range.ANOTHER VERY IMPORTANT THING. THIS BULB IS A HUGE 16" LONG. That way it will give your A/C coil complete coverage, front to back for effective coil cleaning power. When installed in ductwork, this long Double bulb, with its wide effective "killing range" will have the ability to come in contact with the pathogens it was installed to kill. The objective of a: "First Pass Kill" is achieved.

I bought to kill mold and get rid of smell in basement. Set light to hang in the middle of my basement. Within 2 days the mold smell was gone and visible mold was dead. The bulb is ozone free, still smell a little ozone. I don't mind this because Ozone is what kills anything that the light can't reach due to shadows.

I put this in (the 18w single bulb version) well over a year ago when an HVAC tech said I had mold in my air handler and that he could install a UV lamp for $1,500 to take care of the problem. Well, $50 and about an hour of install time solved the problem for me. COOSPIDER (gotta love that name) finally started selling bulbs. They last about a year because I wired a relay to the fan so that the bulb only comes on when the fan runs. They seem to do fine with the on/off cycling and I have not seen mold since I installed it.

After reading multiple reviews on multiple UV light products, I really liked how easy it was to replace bulbs and check on the status of the light. Also, the reviews seemed promising. These were easy to install and seemed to work great. I bought two 36W versions and I thought that would last at least a year. Well, one of them seems to be working well, the other one, though, failed. The bulb burnt out.I thought that this was no big deal since it came with a replacement bulb for cases like this. Well, I put the new bulb in and the bulb was bad. I used the replacement from my second pack and that blew and the transformer let off a burnt plastic smell.I cannot recommend this (at least the 36 W versions). Maybe I'll have to try the 18W version like someone else suggested, but I really don't want to spend more money if it's going to just burn up again. So, now I have no replacement bulbs (after less than three months when it was advertised to last 12 months per bulb) and I'm down one UV light since the transformer blew.

Would think the bulbs would last longer than 3 months. Would be nice if the vendor would send some new replacement bulbs, but do not know how to contact them. Maybe that is why they put 2 bulbs in the box. The light is easy to install if you have a hole saw.
