This is the second one of this type of vacuum I've purchased, the first one went back quickly....this one I'll keep. It's not perfect by any stretch, but for what it is and what it does it is a good value.Product came packaged well, nothing fancy. Instructions, wheels, tools and hose all contained within drum. The wheels press into place without fasteners or tools, you can simply leave them off if their function doesn't suit your needs. The hose is reasonably short, maybe 1m and there are two extruded aluminum tips included. I own more than a few DeWalt 20v power tools already, so the fact that this vac will only run on a DeWalt (Branded or compatible aftermarket) battery is not an issue for me.There are two HEPA-rated filters included. They are of the cylindric type and simply attach via friction to the underside of the motor assembly, similar to many shop-vacs. The earlier fireplace vac that I had purchased and used a somewhat different filter and the fact that that one let significant amounts of fine dust through, and into the room, was why I returned it. I'd like to be able to say that this one is 100% better in that regard, but alas....I used the vac to clean out only the residual ash from our wood-burning fireplace insert, after having removed two, 2gallon buckets of heavier stuff. (We burn our insert every day during cold weather, and it is designed to allow the retention of a thick layer of ash to retain heat. We only have to re-light it about once a week). Immediately upon inserting the aluminum tip into the ash, I could see a faint stream of particulate matter ejected from the top-mounted exhaust. Not a great deal of it, but enough to be disconcertingly visible. This stream did diminish rapidly and as I worked through the different clumps of ash it for the most part remained invisible. Still, depending, I assume on the density of the actual bits of material being sucked up, it would occasionally be quite evident that stream of very very fine stuff was coming out.In use, I believe this vacuum to be superior to using one's regular household for the task of cleaning out fireplace ashes. It does emit enough particulate to cause our Govee air purifier to turn on automatically, it does not fill your room with dust. Not perfect, but I believe it to be a good value.

Nice compact design that looks good enough to leave out. Works great so far. I don't have DeWalt tools, I'm on Milwaukee kind of guy so I ordered a M18 adapter and it works perfect. I still shovel most of my ash into a metal bucket but I use this to clean the mess I made while doing so. No issues with suction from all the ashes I've cleaned up so far and It's filtered fine, no more blowing ashes all over the living room like my shop vac with the wrong filter. Nice and quiet too, for vacuum at least. No complaints, 5 stars!

This 20V (DeWalt) compatible shop vac is well built. I like the overall design but it does lack the suction to really be useful. And for the price I expected more.

Good vacuum, it came with everything shown in the pictures, I ordered this mainly because we have a firepit outside and have been struggling to clean it since we didn't know what else to use other than broom and trashcan. I can't wait to use it next time our firepit gets used and I love the fact that its wireless because that is the main problem with things outdoors that sometimes you don't have outlets that reach certain areas so this should be a great alternative for that.

I ordered this ash vacuum because it runs on DeWalt 20V batteries, which I already quite a few of since I'm a diehard DeWalt fan. I try to keep all of my tools as battery powered and either DeWalt branded or compatible with DeWalt batteries. Not having to deal with cord is always a huge selling point for me, and it makes cleaning up ash from my wood stove and pellet stove so much easier. The suction is surprisingly strong, and the metal canister gives me peace of mind when handling warm ash from my fireplace. The 4-gallon capacity is more than enough for my needs, and the included HEPA filters do a great job of trapping fine dust. The hose is a bit on the short side, but the vacuum itself is light enough to move around as needed. The wheels are a nice touch, though I mostly carry it by the handle.Overall, this vacuum is a great addition to my setup. If you already have DeWalt batteries, it's a really nice tool to keep around for cleaning up fireplaces, grills, and stoves clean without the hassle of cords.

I love how light and portable it is. It’s small and can fit anywhere. Easy to store away and has great suction. Will be great for cleaning our pellet smokers and even other things.

I just finished working on a job installing a floor and this little guy was perfect. I was able to get the floor nice and clean and I really liked that I could just pop in the battery and no cords so easy. Recommend it to anyone workout on a project or for the shop it's perfect
