Glue gun DOES work with black and decker batteries. Gun uses the small glue sticks. I have not been able to determine what temp sticks are required.

This portable hot glue gun that really works nice. I was looking for something that used the same battery that a lot of my portable power tools used and this one did. It's very nice to have a unit that uses the same kind of batteries that you already have and with it being portable it is very handy.

Works exactly as advertised. Black and decker 20V fits and works! Good glue amounts with each squeeze. I've only had 1 drip in an hour when sitting ( straight up standing on the battery). I'm thrilled!

I already have a corded hot glue gun and the cord was a nuisance. I have a bunch of Black & Decker 20V batteries for other tools I have, so I searched for a Black & Decker hot glue gun. When I searched, Amazon didn't have a B&D cordless hot glue gun, but listed this generic one that takes a Black & Decker 20V battery.Good stuff:• My Black & Decker 20V batteries fit this very well (very tight, in a good way).• It heats up pretty quickly.• Runs a nice bead of glue.• It stands up very well on its own, and I've never had a corded glue gun that sits still when setting it down.• It has an LED indicator light showing if it's on - a necessity for my "ooh, shiny!" brain.• Doesn't drip glue when setting down between using.• It comes with a bunch of 8" mini glue sticks; I already had a ton of 4" mini sticks, which work just fine in this gun, so there's no need to buy the 8" sticks as refills.I highly recommend this!

For the battery charger, I bought exactly what was stated in the product description of this glue gun and also suggested by Amazon as a package deal, the Black and Decker 20v lithium ion charger and it did not fit. Seriously annoying

One thing that worries me about third party cordless power tools is whether they'll damage the battery they're attached to. It's very disappointing when a cheap tool destroys an expensive battery. This is very true with power tools which need constant power - not just when you're holding the trigger, like this glue gun.It fits my black and decker batteries, heats up about as quickly as any other glue gun (honestly I wish they'd fix this with a real thermostat and powerful heater, but it is what it is), and, blessedly, turns off if it's unused for a period of time. I have no qualms about letting my spouse or kids use this with my tool batteries as I know it's going to turn off by itself.Beyond that, it fits the smaller style glue sticks, and it seems to do fine with the high temperature sticks I sometimes use.It, amusingly, has a little stand at the tip like corded glue guns - but the battery prevents it from being useful. The gun stands on the battery just fine, and even on its side it doesn't touch the tip to the surface it's resting on. Glue dripping is still a problem, but I find it amusing they still kept the little stand.Overall it's a good buy and makes using hot glue much easier.
