Instructions were a little difficult to follow and as a novice I wasn’t quite sure which head I should use but the kit did come with everything I needed to reattach a wire that had come loose and so far after a few weeks has remained attached. The price couldn’t be beat for what I needed it for.

This would be a great iron if it worked well enough to be useful. The battery does not hold a charge. You can charge it to full, put it away and take it out the next day and there is zero battery left.

The tip burned itself off the rest of the core, which was red hot. Powered from a pro power supply too, which makes this failure even more worrisome.Find another product that has a significantly different design to this one and get that instead, and avoid potentially burning your house down.

Does not power on. Does not charge.Same 2amp charger I use on my smartphone works, but not the soldering iron.

I'm not sure what's most impressive about this little device -- the portable and light-as-a-pen iron itself, or the nifty carrying case that folds out to create a mini soldering station. This is my second (and by far the most portable) USB-powered soldering iron, and so far, I'm loving it. I'm not sure how durable it will end up being (to be honest, it feels pretty no-frills compared to some), but in general, it's surprisingly robust, given the $15.99 price tag.It charges relatively quickly (It was uncharged when first opened), but even better -- it can be used WHILE it's still charging, eliminating the waiting period I've experienced with others. Great tool on the go.
