These are well constructed and the break-away feature makes them hands down the best option for young riders. The top holes, the ones for the stirrup leather to fit, are a tiny bit smaller than I'd like making it a little difficult to run the stirrups up before hanging the saddle on a rack. That's a small price to pay for a good, small-sized stirrup.

You can't beat Peacocks for safety... wish we had them a week earlier, our daughter (6) had her first fall from a horse, and her boot hung up in the stirrup. Thankfully, we all ride with boots that slip off easily for just such a situation, but breakaways would have been even nicer in this situation. Nobody's fault but the rider's... was daydreaming :) Thankfully, all are ok, except I think the mare is feeling a little sheepish... she protects this kid like it's her own, and stood stock still when she realized the kid was on her way out of the saddle and down to the ground. All very controlled, and most importantly, she got back up on the horse, AND we finally have our peacocks for her! Mom got a pair, too, just in case...

Really well made. You need to wear boots with heels so that your foot doesn't get caught when you fall off the horse. With children, even with heels, they risk having their foot go through the stirrup. These allow the foot to pull out of the stirrup in the event that the kid falls. This is a really important piece of safety equipment. Great for kids, and not bad for adults.
