About this item

  • Very firm Eva foam provides exceptional support and comfort. This thoracic spine stretcher is made of smooth, semi-gloss non-porous materials that allows for easy cleaning and disinfecting.
  • Stop that pain you get when you take a deep breath with the Costoblock! The pressure of the 2nd and 3rd ribs against the sternum are what typically cause this unwanted sensation.
  • Recommended by Physical Therapists, Chiropractors, and health instructors as the go-to holistic exercise to treat costochondritis and tietze syndrome. Treat thoracic outlet syndrome and gain instant relief.
  • Similar products may be too hard or firm to use for treatment. The Costoblock was designed specifically for this and will be the most useful.
  • Used also for lumbar, lower back issues, or fibromyalgia. Provides lumbar stretch similar to a back stretcher device and eases fibrositis.

Product Description

The Lumia Wellness Costoblock is designed to alleviate costochondritis. No more dull or sharp pains on the front wall of your chest and ribs. Many people believe costochrondritis treatment starts with relieving the chest but they're wrong! Treatment starts with the back/thoracic area where the opposite ends of your ribs from your spine. The Costoblock allows you to tense your back area and open up your rib cage, which relieves the pressure points that cause discomfort or pain. Warning! If you are experiencing any chest pain, consult a doctor immediately. It may be a heart issue and not just costochondritis. If you feel pain or discomfort the area where your ribs and sternum meet, then you may have costochondritis. This can happen when your chest is stretched, such as when you throw a ball. Another way it can happen is when pressure is applied to the aforementioned area. This product can be used for postural issues to, not just chest pain. This posture corrector can be used to help with forward head tilt, ankylosing spondylitis, kyphosis, or anterior pelvic tilt.

This product would be so much better is it had some grip to keep it in place. It slides and I could not get it to stay in the position I wanted it.

I am getting the same relief as I do with a similar "block" that I use at the chiropractor's office. The only drawback is that this slides around while trying to position it. I covered it with a grippy sock (the kind you get at the hospital) and that works great.

Way too hard. Not what I expected. Very Small.I asked for a Refund but, they sent me another one without my permission. If I wanted to return the first one, I sure as heck didn’t want another one just like it!Not happy, no way to get ahold of seller to talk to them directly.

The one reviewer’s suggestion to use anti-slip furniture pads was excellent. I bought them when I ordered the CostoBlock for a few dollars; two pads keep it in place. The CostoBlock is too hard for my spine. I am using it because I am in front of a monitor screen all day, not for costochondritis. I had to fold a hand towel and lay it over the block. It takes a few minutes to find the right position. I’m going to try using it daily and see if I get more used to the firmness, but I really wish they had made it with rubber.

This is exactly the same as the back pod only a little less expensive. It's the same price as a visit to the pyshio. I use this any time my back starts to feel stiff or sore. It is really a good product. I definitely recommend getting one.

It made my pain worse. Not worth the money.

So glad I got this. Really helping my neck and shoulders and opening up my chest. This is super slick on the carpet, so I put a little cork on the bottom so it doesn’t move too much when you lay on it.

This was a good starting point, but I ended up finding a person reselling their backpod for cheap. Just buy that instead. This product is not solid enough to have a meaningful impact.

I place this right between or slightly below the line between my shoulder blades and it resets my upper back & has been the cure for my costochondritis. Anytime I feel a little ache in my front ribs or floating ribs iny back, I can focus on using this back pod & it goes away. The relief is amazing since I lived with the pains for a long time before finding this. Also, when I feel like my whole upper back is jammed down, this opens everything up. I do think it takes awhile at first so just try it everyday until it becomes second nature and a quick release and relief as you’re further along in healing.
