This mic has a nice, clean sound when it works, but the cable is prone to shorting out. The previous Countryman we owned lasted a few years before the cable started going bad, so we tried to make more of an effort to protect the cable on this mic. Unfortunately, our efforts were not effective as this Countryman lasted only about 9 months and was used about 30-40 times before it started having a very noticeable problem with shorting out when the person using the mic would turn their head. It's disappointing to buy a mic that is currently selling for over $400 and to have it for less than a year before it breaks.
