This is a very good set made in the USA. I only got to use it once. The gauges were dead on and they are also metal not plastic. Very good set of rubber hoses with valves too. They did not come with rubber protection like it said on the box they came in, but that's ok I'm careful. I am very happy with my purchase and Amazon shipped it the day after I placed my order. Worked great for 7 years lots of useful shutoffs. But the 2 plastic knobs on the main aluminum housing are now stripped making it hard to turn those valves. I had to take off the plastic knobs and now use plyers to open or close the fill / outlet valves for the Hi or low side. All the other 1/4 turn valves work great.

Unfortunately I received the MA1234 set with an unusable yellow charge hose - no threads on one end. Not the end of the world except CPS would not send me a functional hose! Anyway, these manifold sets are kind of cheap but they work for my home use. It took 3-4 weeks but I eventually got a proper hose thru the Amazon system. It looks like an older hose, a bit dirty, maybe used - who knows.Always try to inspect purchases within the 30 day period to avoid these problems!

This is a good quality middle-of-the-pack manifold gauge set. As they say, you get what you pay for, and that's why I immediately returned the set I originally bought from Harbor Freight - the quality just wasn't there. HF is cheap, but I should have known better than to try and skimp on a tool like this - but still, I had to check it out. Anyway, this CPS set is good quality, and "mostly" made in America according to the CPS rep. The manifold single-turn valve knobs (one full rotation to completely open or close) feel good and are easy to use. The hoses are very good quality and 72" long, which you will appreciate when working on AC systems. Ball valve shut-off's at the end of each hose is to be noted as well, very nice, a lot of sets do not have this. I was happy with all of the fittings, they are of good quality. The couplers are not what you see pictured, rather, they are 'chrome' plated with anodized blue and red knobs for high and low side, but the quality seems to be commensurate with the rest of the ensemble - almost. One thing the Harbor Freight set has over this set? A nice injection molded hard plastic case for storage. At nearly three times the price for this CPS set, I would have appreciated a case to store it in. Oh well. Overall, a good, solid gauge set.

After many hours of research, I decided to go with this set of gauges. They are of solid construction and the reviews are outstanding. Unfortunately, My experience was not that great. When I received my gauges I was so excited. I opened up the box to find a broken package taped back together. Not a big deal, I know. Then, the gauges were not zeroed but they can be recalibrated with little effort. Not exactly what I expected from gauges in this price range. Alright, now I can finally use them. I hook them up to my truck and start to pull a vacuum. The low side gauge will not read below negative 8.Problem: Defective low side gauge. I had to get out my harbor freight gauges to finish the job. Take note, you have to pay return shipping yourself in order to get a refund. Even though it was not your fault you received defective gauges!

I purchased the CPS MA1234 a/c manifold set to replace a Yellow Jacket set. The Yellow Jacket set was a great set but apparently had an additional feature.... legs.. yep - they just up and walked away one day...Speaking of features, this set has big 3 1/2 " easy to read gauge display with internal silicon dampening cup for flutter-free operation and the pro set hoses are of good quality. Note: the suction/charging hose (yellow) has a 1/4" female fitting that fits r12/r22, so keep that in mind when buying a can tap tool. If you buy a r134a tap tool you'll need an adapter (comes with set) as this hose connects to r12/r22 fittings (1/4") Quick connect manual adapters for the low and high side and ball shut off valves on the end all the hoses. Easy hook up, high (red) and low (blue) side... No worries if first time using, they are different size connectors so can't be hooked up incorrectly. Also features a descent size sight glass for viewing refrigerant being drawn into the a/c system.The gauge display is marked in R134a scale only, but you can use with R12, R22... R410A refrigerant uses ester oils only and should not be contaminated with any other oils, therefore EPA recommends usring dedicated vacuum pump and manifold gauges only.To make comparison gauge scale.... search online for an image of a gauge that has the R134aa scale plus the refrigerant scale you need. Take a screen snapshot of image on computer screen and print out and laminate or take picture of screen image with your phone. You now have a reference scale for charging with other refrigerants.At first I thought the shutoff valves on the high and low side hoses was overkill and just another item that could easily break. However, they have grown on me. I had an instance where the hose connection had become loose during charge at the high side 134 adapter and started to leak, rather than having to shut off the manifold and then tighten the hose connecter, I simply turned shutoff valve to closed position w/o freezing my fingers. I really like the shutoff valve feature when charging with refrigerant cans, easy enough, close valve while removing discharged can and replace with a full can w/o any air intrusion in the suction line...Time will test the durability of this set, so far they have taken thier first boo boo. I like to hang my set from the hood for easy visual of gauges.... however I had a hood from a Chevy 2500HD fall on my set because of a gust of wind. Luckily no damage to manifold gauge set. Should you ever need to adjust the needle on the gauge, the gauge has a small plug that you pop out and then you can zero the gauge with phillips/cross tip screwdriver. The manifold set does not come with a storage case. CPS products are made in USAChoose whatever set you prefer, but do heed following advice..... Whatever set you purchase, make sure they have 6ft hoses, you'll regret otherwiseOverall, I love this manifold set and I'd be willing to bet you would also.

I am really impressed every time I buy something from CPS, they make real tools, that look real durable, with style and functionality. This manifold is well built, the gauges are huge and the ball valves are absolutely necessary. I hate cheap Chinese tools that in the end makes you look like a cheap technician, I love CPS products and I support things made in the US, I understand that companies have to cut costs and manufacturing overseas is a way to do it, but they are making customers pay for something less than they expect.
