They’re nice, but too heavy for hot weather hiking. Going to hike Japan in July, it’s going to be hot as balls and these won’t work for that. For any other climate, I’m sure they’re fine.

Very light and comfortable to wear. Love the extra stretch from the waist and very resistant.

Wrangler ATG synthetic utility pants are better for less money. They fit better, front pockets riveted at corners of stitch, pockets are bigger, have extra right front pocket. Waist lining is a felt compared to cqr elastic which feels nicer. Similar overall design and fabric. These also have a strong elastic/synthetic with a hint of chemical smell when new.I only tried the sierra version not runyon or rocky.Only part of them vented is the crotch gusset, and the pockets are a mesh. I'm not sure either of those details will help them feel any cooler. They're also listed as 64% cotton 32% nylon and 4% elastane but are actually 95% nylon and 5% elastane. The cuffs at the ankles are snug over my work boots which is probably the most annoying downside.
