On a seemingly endless journey to find a door chime that is not hideous and plastic, I was excited to find this one. The item arrived and the construction is askew. What is supposed to be a rectangular wooden cover, is uneven. Who makes this crap? The wooden cover does not secure to the chime.. it just teeters loosely on a plastic peg .. only a matter of time until this would fall. What a waste.

Be prepared to look over the wood very carefully. I couldn't see the crack and glue until I was applying the finish. Of course, the glue doesn't take up the finish, so it looks terrible now. Very disappointed. about a product that otherwise works and looks good.

A nice change from your average plastic chime. Add a little stain and varnish to match your woodwork.

Nice paintable wood door chime. So much better than the cheap looking plastic versions available in the hardware stores.
