This is by far the best crazy creek and I'd argue best non-rigid clip on canoe chair that exists.We canoe a lot and finding attachable chairs that are actually good is more difficult than one might expect. For a soft backed chair, not the aluminum tubing ones, this is the best I've ever seen. The material is bulletproof, literally it's made out of the same material that commercial rafts and whitewater duckies are made from. It doesn't absorb water. It's just rigid enough, it doesn't need a frame to keep it's shape. It's easy to clip on a canoe seat, or just use it on the ground and not on a seat at all. It very supportive for this type of chair, again, you would need to find a fully rigid seat with a tube frame to get any meaningful upgrade over this. This brand basically invented the fold out camping chair, and this version blows everything before it out of the water.

Ordered this: Crazy Creek Canoe Chair IV to go on an REI canoe we use on the lake in the summer. My first Crazy Creek chair and I am very impressed with the build quality. Not cheap but it is built super solid. The straps are NRS quality and the material is a super thick rip stop. Still too cold to put it in the water yet but I tested it in the yard... I'm 5'10 and 205 lbs and this fits me perfectly, but if I was much thicker then I think it would be too tight. The 250 lbs weight limit may be more for people that are tall and not round.Not cheap but I think the price is reasonable for a hard core paddling chair. Certainly not ideal for other purposes... it has a heavy water proof covering and thin but solid padding on the base and rear. There are better options for backpacking, stadium use or hiking... this is a watercraft product that can be easily detached when you get to where you are going and for it's intended purpose a 5 star product.Serious upgrade compared to no seat, can't wait to get it on the water.

This canoe chair is versatile and can be used anywhere on-or-off-boat. I got mine for off-boat use such as going to the park, or attending workshops where attendees have to sit on the floor. This is better than sitting on a pillow because it gives you back support and helps you sit for longer without pain or struggle. It has a convenient carry handle. if it had backpack straps I'd give it 5-stars. I'm giving it 4-stars because it's very good but doesn't have all the features for off boat use that I would like, particularly backpack straps because it's a little bulky for a portable item but it's very lightweight. So ideally it could be carried on the back while biking or hiking, rather than having to use your hands to carry it.

I ordered the Crazy Creek Canoe Chair IV for Kayaking, Fishing, Camping & More, Detachable for Off The Boat Use, 250 LBS Weight Capacity, Adjustable Straps, Water-Resistant, Forest Green (Forest Green). I specifically ordered this to place on a paddle board since I'm using it for sitting down and using a kayak vs stand-up paddling. I have one seat already, but I needed one for our other board. That seat is inflatable and has extra cushion due to it, and this is just a firm ready to go seat. I could tell immediately this is something that should last for years as it feels high quality and durable. It can get wet, and you can easily dry it off. Growing up we had these types of seats for the boats and camping. This folds flat for carrying. The straps are adjustable. When placing it on my board I just get in it then tighten the top straps as far as it will go so it comfortably supports me. It's non-slip on my board, but I'll still attach a strap to it just in case. It's not as comfortable as my inflatable cushion since that one is thick, however, I don't need to worry about this popping or inflation since it's ready to go. This could be used for many different outside activities whether they are active sports or just sitting on the ground. Some may want this for a stadium seat. I don't have any complaints and am happy with this, thank you.

Off the bat, I'm gonna confidently say that this thing is likely going to last decades, if not my entire life.I've used Crazy Creek stuff forever now, and I decided to take a leap on this one. It feels like every change is incremental, but maintains the same high quality I've come to expect.The other material is the same stuff I've been used to for years. The straps are built slightly better now, but again it's just an incremental upgrade there.Cushioning feels normal. There's nothing exactly there. I think the real selling point here is how they reinforced the internal structure of the seat itself. It feels much lighter to deal with, and has a nice toughness to it that feels like it can take a pretty substantial beating over the lifetime of its product. In this case I fully expect it to last decades.If you get this, you're getting it for life. 5 stars.
