I have to admit when i ordered this piece, I was unfamiliar with a ginger jar. I just loved the beautiful design in a classic blue and white pattern, and thought it would make a great gift for a friend. I have since learned that a ginger jar is a rounded porcelain container that was used in ancient China to store/transport spices like ginger and salt.This jar is stunning. It is made of ceramic with a glaze finish and has a good weight. It is a nice size with a domed lid. While it is not functional for food, it is a beautiful piece to add to a bookshelf or table decor.

The Creative Co-Op Decorative Ceramic Ginger Jar with Domed Lid, in Light Blue is similar to a lot of the ceramic pieces I grew up with, but it has a modern take with the pop of color with the orange in contrast. At just under 8" tall, it's slightly larger than I had originally expected, but I appreciate the thought that went into this design. At first I thought it was an actual jar for ginger, but I was kind of bummed to see it's not actually food safe. Regardless, price-wise it's decent considering something with designs like this can cost more than two times more, plus it reminds me of home.

This is a great size and absolutely so cute. It feels nice and heavy/sturdy in my hands and looks really great on my open shelving in my kitchen. It's not huge, but it's also not tiny. I just wish the blue was as bright as the blue in the picture. It looks a little more like navy in real life. Overall, I think it's a great value for the price and I'm pretty happy with it! I'd like to add more pieces from this collection to my china hutch!

Very attractive. Great price and looks much more expensive than it is. Blends well in our maximalist home in an elegant way. May have to get another because a pair of these always has such a classy look. The design and coloring is good, not faded out nor pixelated in any way. Truly looks to me like those I've seen in my moms house that she paid tons more for. Would be a wonderful, stylist, and unexpected gift for a new apartment or homeowner making her way in the world starting out. Its not huge but not teeny either. I really like this.

This is an adorable piece. The lid fits very loosely so I worry that it will be broken before too long if the jar is jostled and the lid topples off. Also, the jar is not food safe. Therefore, I am at a loss with how/where I'd like to use/place this. I'd planned on using it as a cookie jar for those times I'm inspired to bake but it isn't food safe. Because of the loose-fitting lid, I will not put it in a high traffic area like my kitchen. It's lovely, though, so even if the lid were to break, it could make a beautiful vase for dried or faux flowers. If you like it for it's beauty or thought about using it to hold non-food items, buy it! It's decently priced.
