I use this for ink wash rendering in my classical architecture classes. They are very good quality, and I like that they stack so it keeps my ink a little bit longer (but don't rely on a perfect preservation). I wish they were slightly deeper, but work very well and the shallowness does allow you to see the true dilution of the ink very well.

I use watercolor to paint and I needed something other than a plastic tray to mix colors in. I found plastic absorbed the colors and I couldn't clean it. This tray is perfect. It has a smooth ceramic surface and holds the right amount of paint for me. It is easy to clean. The bottom of this tray is not glazed, so it might scratch the work area/desk. I keep mine on a mouse pad, and if paint spills it wont end up on my table. Overall good product, I would recommend this.

Wish I had discovered this sooner! Porcelain is by far, the best material for use with watercolor paint. The slick surface helps mix the paint more easily. The porcelain has weight some to it, so it does not when mixing paint. And you can wipe it clean with a wet paper towel. I didn't even need to use any soap. With 7 generous compartments, this cute little flower shaped dish makes painting and clean up so much easier. Highly recommended!

Prior to purchasing this palette I'd been using the large plastic type. They work well enough but they do tend to stain with some pigments and I, being a bit clumsy, would sometimes bump it accidentally and end up flipping it or tilting it just enough to make a mess. The glazed palette hasn't stained and being smaller and having a little weight to it, I haven't managed to flip it yet. I'm very pleased with it. I was also happy to see that it came in a small cardboard box with no plastic at all so I was able to recycle the packaging.

It's small in size but has 7 fairly deep wells. The enamel glaze is holding up well. It has not been stained by either watercolor, acrylic ink nor India ink. It's great for small work spaces. The bottom is not glazed so it doesn't slide around but because it isn't glazed it will scratch sensitive surfaces if you're not careful. I lie mine on absorbent cloth in case I spill. Someone suggested little felt pads on the bottom. I see nothing wrong with this product and have enjoyed using it.

I bought this ceramic palette as an upgrade to my plastic mixing palette, and the difference is night and day. I didn't realize before how inadequate a plastic palette is for mixing watercolors, and now I cant go back. The glaze is nice and smooth, it's very easy to wipe it clean with a cloth or paper towel. No staining or issues with water and paint beading up as you're mixing. It's a nice small size, a bit bigger than the palm of your hand, so it doesn't take up top much space on your desk. The flower design is very cute, on top of it all.

We purchased 2 of these for my husband to use when attending a Tom Lynch watercolor workshop. Both palettes are well made with a smooth finish, but one had a small bump in the center, a manufacturing flaw, which did not affect the pallete use, but in my opinion that one should have been pulled at the manufacturer and put into the "seconds" pile. The flawed pallete should have been set aside and sold at a slight reduction in price by Jerry's Artarama or returned to the manufacturer and not sold at full retail price. The palettes are just the right size for packing in an artist's travel case, and they are the right weight to stay stable when using your brush to pick up the amount of media you want to use.
