About this item

  • Removes Alkaline Residue, Chemical and Mineral Deposits From Uncoated Clear and Float Surfaces

C.R. LAURENCE C2030 CRL Water Spot Remover - Quart Bottle. CRL Water Spot Remover is specifically formulated for use by professional window cleaning contractors and glazing professionals. It is designed to remove any residue left on glass which may alter the optical clarity, and can not be cleaned using standard methods. CRL Water Spot Remover will make glass clear again if it has turned hazy due to caustic and corrosive air pollution, acid rain, auto exhaust, hard water deposits, corrosive cleaning materials, dust and dirt residues. It works by dissolving mineral deposits from the surface of the glass, and prevents their redeposit later. Because CRL Water Spot Remover is an acid-based product, it has the ability to dissolve deposits found in the rough pits and ridges of the glass surface, leaving it looking almost like new.. Part Numbers Variations: C2030

This stuff works! Plus it works fast. I’ve used different products in the past to get water spots off and nothing worked. I’ve used baking soda, vinegar, dawn dish washing liquid. I’m sticking to this.

I suppose it works on spots, but that is all. Now powerful enough to do much more that that (cloudy glasses). So for what I wanted it for: Not so much...you might like it.

I bought it to clean the water residue out of a decanter and it worked well. I am not quite sure how to dispose of the liquid. I didn’t want to put it in the drain so I poured it on a some gravel on earth. I hope that filters it.

Strong! Be careful with this compound on glass. Spray, let it sit for just a bit and then rub the hard water spots OFF! Rinse with clear water as soon as the spots are gone. Recommend you wear disposable gloves for the job and use in a well-ventilated area or prepare for some strong fumes. But the spots come off beautifully and easily. Don’t expect miracles if the glass or paint is heavily etched but for the purpose I needed it, removing hard water spots due to sprinkler overspray out here in the Mojave Desert, it works better than anything I have ever used. Incredible! After removing every single water spot on my car, both paint and glass, I decided, on a lark, to see if I could fix my shaving mirror in our shower. It had been unusable due to spotting. Took every water spot off in one minute. I dried the mirror off, sprayed it and let it sit for 30 seconds and then, using only a paper towel, removed every spot with just a few wipes. I had tried every cleaning product in the house without success, scrubbed like crazy, too, and nothing worked. But a spritz of CRL and a paper towel fixed it. This stuff is pro-level great; it works.

I have been using various chemicals to clean hard water stains for decades. I had not seen anything like this until now. First of all, recently purchased used car had 8 years worth of hard water damage as a result of leaking pipes in a garage.Miraculously, the product worked in seconds on painted surfaces, causing no damage to the clear coat. An alternative would have been to use rubbing compound, or polish on the less damaged areas, but this would result in wearing down of the clear coat. The windows take more time, and I recommend doing them separately for this reason. All of the hard water was easily removed in seconds, and you can clearly see once the product has completed its job. However, in some of the worst damaged areas, some hard water damage could be seen, however, this was deep etching caused by the hard water into the clearcoat, and in this case light polishing will easily fix that.Note: The first photo is the "before" shot of the worst section, near the left fender. The second photo is the "after" of the same section. There is no hard water deposits remaining, however, there is some very minor etching of the clearcoat that will surely come off with polishing. There is also some embedded white specks of dirt which I removed with clay bar, but is not related to the hard water deposits, and could only be removed by clay bar. As you can see from the "after", the finish has been restored significantly.Tips: Apply in a shaded area, and take into account outside temperature, relative humidity and wind conditions. The sections were slightly wetted, and the worst areas the product was used full strength. Do not leave the product more than a few minutes. Glass areas will require vigorous rubbing until the product sheets and covers the entire surface, and then after that wait a 20-30 seconds to let it work its magic. Product will not "sheet" in painted surfaces, opposite to behavior on glass, so rubbing is necessary to evenly remove the stains, but this is very easy and fast. Can rinse with regular water if you can dry the excess, but remember that the clearcoat is fully exposed, and would require additional steps to be carried out immediately, such as clay bar, polishing and IPA rub, before waxing or applying ceramic. Be careful for older glass that may already be etched, and also with the rear view mirrors as they are usually plastic, and can be etched or otherwise damaged. Did not have problems with rubber, plastic, plastic, trim, chrome or other surfaces.

Although this product was not originally intended for use on cars, I found this is the only product that actually works. I found out the use of this product after googling "removing water spots from cars" and saw a blog from a professional that extolls the virtues of this product. I decided to try it as I had water spots that would not go away - tried everything (Meguiars Water Spot Remover did remove spots - but required a LOT of work.... many hours of rubbing and I gave up on it after two hours and just did a part of one quarter panel). Washed and dried the car and then used CRL Water Spot Remover - small sections at a time. Put product on a cloth (wore nitrile gloves and eye protection as it is an acid) and rubbed it on... within 90 seconds you can see the water spots dissolve from the area. Rinsed and dried area before moving on to next section to ensure the product is thoroughly removed (you DO NOT want this product to remain on painted surfaces for too long). Had the entire car finished within 90 minutes. You need to wax the car immediately after using this product as it removes all wax along with water spots (I use Turtle Wax ICE - great product as you can use it on entire car without white residue). I used less than one sixth of a bottle for my car - GREAT STUFF!

This got rid of hard water spots on a used car that I recently bought. The spots had been there for several years and was very heavily deposited. I tried about a dozen products, including a much more expensive one, but they all failed to do the job. CRL Water Spot Remover did not work instantly, and required quite a bit of work. It did not harm the clear coat at all. I applied it with a damp sponge straight from the bottle. I would say it is the weakest it could be and still work. This sounds bad, but it's also good. This means that although it is very strong, stronger than all the others, it is the least dangerous it can be. It works well on auto glass with some steel wool. I took away one star for the amount of work I still had to do.
