The quality of the materials is absolutely fine, no complaints at all on the yarn, hook, or the additional tools. The instructions, however, are SO difficult to navigate. There are links to get to instructional videos, but they are entirely out of order, and some are missing entirely.As someone who has never crocheted before, the lack of teaching of basic techniques before getting into directions and the use of technical terms without explanation made this impossible for me to really get started.My hope is that I can find some better tutorials so I can at least make use of the materials and tools that came with this.

This kit is absolutely adorable and perfect for beginners like me! It come with everything you need to make the cutest crochet animals, plus the yarn is soft and easy to work with.

I got this kit for my kids because it's a GREAT beginner kit in my opinion. First of all, the tshirt yarn is SUPER easy to sew as you don't have the individual fibers like you do in acrylic yarns. Second, this comes with a great little booklet that is on glossy paper with bright, beautiful colors and pretty good instructions. There is a QR code on the first page that apparently has tutorial videos. There is a separate little booklet with pictures for crochet and how to begin and do stitches, etc. (so you don't HAVE to use the QR codes if you don't want to). There are 3 individual booklets - or the owl, octopus, and dinosaur (and the additional, smaller booklet with all of the stitches shown step by step).The kit includes what they believe you'll need to make these 3 amigurumi animals in amount of yarn, a crochet hook, plastic needle, stitch markers, screw-in safety eyes, and 3 key chains for the animals (if you want them). Also included is the stuffing needed for the animals.This is a VERY complete kit! What a wonderful gift idea to bring someone into the world of crochet or - just a "hobby" if they need one! Certainly, hobbies are a great way to take a break mentally and just -do- something. With everything you need to get started in this kit, it's a wonderful way to get started and learn. At the current price, this is just such a wonderful beginner kit. I HIGHLY recommend it.

I got this as a gift for 2 sisters ages 11 and 13 because they love to craft and already have some experience with crochet and other needlework. I like that everything you need comes in this kit, but I am not sure there is enough yarn for the major bodies of the figures. I watched the videos online and they are not only very clear but the instructor goes slowly and you can both watch AND listen as she explains the steps. Thankfully there are 3 separate booklets ,one for each animal, and they all explain what the abbreviations of letters are.This is like learning a new language and I remember my grandma trying to teach me when I was a kid. I think that even though this says it is for a beginner, you would get the best results if you had someone next to you that knew what they were doing.

I ordered this for one of my daughters after she expressed that she would really love to learn how to knit and crochet. I have no idea how to do either of these as I was never taught, so figured a beginner set would be a good place to start for both of us to learn. The kit includes the materials to make three different small crafts, pictured in the listing. All materials listed were included. It even comes with a virtual tutorial on how to get started which made the process a lot easier for both of us to work with. She was stoked for this kit and is still working on her crafts in her downtime. Great value for a very easy set to learn and grow her crafting skills. And mine!
