Easy fix for incorrect speedometer reading after putting 33" tires on Jeep Wrangler tj with 4:10 gears. Speedometer now reads true!

If you know your Jeep has NOT been re-geared, and you added larger/smaller than stock tires, you can look on the tag on the differential + tire size to determine which speedo gear you need. I have a 4.10 with 33” tires, and this one fit perfectly. Easy to install, simply by removing the 13mm bolt and forked clamp on the transfer. Pay attention to the numbers on the gear receiver (it has the electrical connector snapped in) and according to which gear number you have, face the set of numbers to roughly the 5-6 o’clock position with the speedo gear in it, place the assembly back into the transfer and clamp it back down. This gear worked perfectly, a 5 minute install to correct my speedo that was off 7-10 mph. I checked using the GPS, staying at a constant speed and moved up/down in speeds going back to a constant as the GPS needed to catch up. Good luck

It clicked right in place. Make sure to clock the carrier to the number of teeth installed.After re-gearing my Jeep, the speedo was way off. I installed the correct speedometer gear and according to GPS, it is now spot on.

Direct replacement and easy drop-in installation on my Jeep. Glad to have my speedometer reading correct again after the gear swap and oversize tires. Definitely do your research and find out which size gear you need for your axle gearing and tire size setup before ordering, though... It's easy to get the wrong one!
