Just now got a chance to start my engine (too late to return this tachometer) The needle does not have a steady movement. it flutters back & forth by 100 rpm's anywhere on the scale. Would love to return.Now it doesn't read correctly at all. About 1000 rpm off. Once again, Amazon pawning off other companies junk. So what if I bought it last June. What does time have to with a piece of junk that does work. As far as I'm concerned Amazon owes me $65.

After 3 weeks the tach is working accurately. At first it read low. Now it is accurate. The best advice is to give it time.

Gauge doesn't work. Well, it will work for a few minutes and then bounce all over the place, and then quit. Yes, I wired it correctly.

The quality and accuracy aren't amazing, but it works. I ended up disassembling it and rebuilding it to fit in the clock housing of my '51 Chevy. I had to cut it to get the case open, so it's doesn't appear to be serviceable (it has an incandescent dial light).

Works just fine on my 74 Jeep CJ5 I6 232. Wiring directions were simple and correct. Switch for 4, 6, or 8 cylinders is easy. No problems.
