I had purchased a cheaper version of this tool which required some tooling to fit inside the Corteco version of the replacement harmonic balancer for the M112 engine. That tool required some cutting on a metal lathe to get it to fit inside the Corteco balancer. When attempting to remove the stock balancer, the rod that comes out of the side of the tool ended up disconnected due to a broken weld, rendering the tool useless. I decided to purchase this tool and could not be happier. The CTA tool held the balancer in place while using a massive amount of force (3/4 inch breaker bar on a 27 mm deep impact socket from Tekton with another 3 feet of cheater pipe, e.g. floor jack handle). Once removed, replacement with the Corteco balancer worked perfectly without requiring any tooling/grinding. It fit perfectly! The CTA tool held the new balancer in place while I installed the new crank bolt with 200 NM plus 90 degrees as called for by the FSM.The cheaper tool I purchased cost $35 which seemed like a deal, but they charged another $30 to ship it to me. At $65, this was still cheaper that the $100 for the CTA tool, but the latter did not charge shipping. The overall price difference of $35 is inconsequential considering that the cheaper tool required grinding to get it to fit into the Corteco balancer. Moreover, the CTA worked perfectly whereas the cheaper tool failed. I say just bite the bullet for the CTA tool. Like other CTA tools, this one worked perfectly. Don't make the mistake I did.
