My 11yr old has a big collection of various fidget toys, cubes, rubix cubes, etc. Felt a little fragile/cheap, but my son has no issues playing with it & keeping his hands busy. Worried it might break, but he's had it for a while & its still in great shape.

My teenager loves it. He figured it out and is able to solve it within 30 seconds. It kept him occupied while we were in the airport and on the plane, it is slightly noisy which may bother some people.

This is called an ivy puzzle. I had never seen one of these before, so I got it as soon as I could. This is a very easy puzzle to solve, and is a great introduction to how these puzzles work (I'd also recommend the 2x2x2 cube). It's so easy that instructions for solving it were not included; that said, there are plenty of solutions provided online. I like that the puzzle has no stickers to remove, which I think is a significant improvement in the design of all these kinds of puzzles. Mine sits with the others, rearranged into one of the special patterns available for it, and it is very striking and eye-catching, which is what I like. 😉

This Japanese puzzle cube is an interesting departure from the standard Rubik's. It has a very smooth turning movement and since it is colored plastic (not sticky paper labels) if feels very nice in hand. You do get an instruction sheet teaching you how to solve so no frustration if you get stuck!
