It quickly removes thick paint, heavy rust, rust pits and corrosion from metal. The aggressive aluminum oxide mineral then scratches and cleans to the bare metal underneath without leaving divots. This means operators can use this metal stripping disc to remove a coating and get it ready for welding or adhesive application with the same disc. The fibers of this clean and strip disc are highly conformable without compromising strength, meaning improved effectiveness on work piece edges. These are terrible. 2 in my order had the ‘hubs’ grossly off centre and the threaded part strips easily causing the disc to free wheel on the grinder.Never getting these again

there is no quicker way to remove mill scale. they are expensive but very good

I purchased these wheels to clean used/recycled 3x3x3/16 wall square tubing to build a table base for a welding table.PROS; The wheels worked great for cleaning off paint and light rust & do not grind into the base metal as advertised. Cleans better & faster than regular grinding wheels, wire cups or flap discs.CONS; Expensive. Wish they lasted longer for the price. You will also need to buy the backup pad for 3M TN quick change wheels. Would still recommend hitting spots to be welded with a flap disc.
