This is a nice clock however, there are issues. First, the clock that was delivered via Amazon did not match the photo. The “dancers” look like the work of a school child. One of the shingles is not aligned properly. Also, although the fascia board under the deck is nicely carved with detail, it should, in my opinion extend to each end of the deck for aesthetic balance and a look of structural support. This clock was a gift for my 95 year old mother. It was well received and is liked by everybody. The clock keeps perfect time (it is after all a clock). The music has a pleasant distinct sound. I shopped carefully for this cuckoo because this is an item that will be around for decades. The quartz option is convenient and has more music than most 1 day or 8 day clocks that have to be wound up. This particular clock for the money had enough design and brightness of design (not too dark) compared to other cuckoos in the same class. A little more color for flowers and other details would’ve been nice. One last thing, the cuckoo is great but a bit louder than the music – wish I could turn down the cuckoo sound a bit and/or turn up the music volume.

Incredible clock! Communication with the company on shipping was great as there was an issue with delivery that was quickly corrected. The clock itself is amazing! It was given as a gift and the receiver was blown away by the craftsmanship and the works of the movement. Packing for shipping was great and the clock arrived in perfect condition. Setup was easy and instructions were easy to follow. Cant say enough about this company - they’ve addressed all of the problems that people used to have with the complicated movements in cuckoo clocks and made pieces that incorporate everything people want in this type of clock with a modern movement. Excellent job!

This product really needs a different description as it is not a traditional cuckoo clock. It is very well made, and you can tell the care that went into making it. The wood carvings and the paint on the clock itself are very well done. When you see the clock all of the joints are solid and its quality is obvious. Sadly, like all things; it is the inside that counts. The outside of the clock may be traditional, but the internal workings are very modern. The first issue is that it is a quartz movement that runs on C batteries. The pendulum and weights on the bottom are entirely decorative. The pendulum is well put together, but the weights are thin hollow plastic. The "weights" detract from the beauty of the clock itself. The next issue is with the cuckoo. It is recorded audio and not created using baffles. For whatever reason they added an echo to the cuckoo sound and you cannot get rid of it. The music that plays is also recorded audio.I tried to love this clock but I couldn't. I could have lived with the quartz movement, but the sound killed it. I grew up with a clock like this, and the sound difference between the mechanical cuckoo and the electronic one are just to great. If you don't care about the internal workings and want a decorative piece, I would highly suggest this product. You are not buying cheap junk, but you are also not buying a traditional cuckoo clock.

we used to have a cuckoo in our home when we were kids. i have fond memories of us gathering around it every hour for a delightful show!i always wanted one when i grew up and finally pulled the trigger on this even though its a bit expensive.once i received it, i am blown away by the super high quality build and show it puts out.Only gripe is it does not have a chime at 30min mark and it would have been nice if they add a light to brighten this even more!. Other than that, highly recommend this clock which is at perfect price point for the quality, delightful music and multiple moving elements.

The clock is perfect it came on time and well protected. It does't have the German movement but it was worth giving up for a hassle free clock. Yes it does have a second cookoo for each hour but it doesn't bother me at all. The wheel moves and the girl on the rocking horse rocks back and forth, The dancers spin and go in and out of the clock to the sound of different songs played. The very best thing I can think of is my little grandchild smiling and pointing to the clock as she repeats cookoo, cookoo, I love the clock and I am glad I bought it. I also get a lot of compliments from friends and family how nice the clock is

My wife and kids all line-up a few minutes before the hour the watch the Black Forest show: The doors swings open and out comes Cuckoo! He cuckoos once for every hour; and, if you ever heard a cuckoo sing in the forest you probably have heard the cuckoo's echo - and this clock has it too! Totally surprised ;)After the cuckoos end, the dancers dance, mill rotates and the girl swings on a horse. For every hour there is a different melody. The clock is very ornate, meticulously detailed and I love the smell of lacquer. The clock also depth to it which is really not well shown in the photo - but this depth gives it a nice "third dimension".Last, but not least, I was glad to see that even the quartz movement was made in Germany. My only wish is that instead of having "Made in Germany" lettered on the hour dial I would have much like to see something like "Made in Schwarzwald" or "Made in Deutschland" ... oh well, gotta go, it's almost time and I don't wanna miss the show ;)
