Superbly efficient Cudy 5 Port USB-C powered unmanaged network switchAs a fan and owner of several Cudy devices, and in the need once again of expanding my wired connections throughout my property for networking connectivity I had to give this awesome little network switch a try and happy that I did. This is a 5 port "unmanaged" network switch. 5 x 1GB ports total connections between devices in isolation (like an isolated home lab for instance), or in reality 4 attached devices if you plan on joining/sharing an existing wired network connection.Unmanaged in essence there are no smart network isolation, tagging or vlan's in this device, nor would there be. This is a truly simple and small network switch to connect wired RJ45 connections, share this out and allow excellent connectivity, throughput and shared uplink speed to the connected devices.I also was super interested in this awesome little switch as this is a first for myself being fully powered by USB-C. Yes, USB-C.This got me thinking could I power this switch with my USB-C cable from my laptop, yes, could I power this with a standard USB power bank.... YES you can. No more tied to where you can use or power this device like most will have an external power plug that needs to be plugged in to work.I then tested this out using my laptop as well as USB Charger/Power Bank and it worked. This switch is very small but can support 5 x 1gb RJ45 connections, comes with a USB-A to USB-C cable to power the swich, and is backwards compatible with 10/100/1000mb connections. An overall outstanding little unmanaged switch that I would and have definitely recommended.

As someone who travels a fair bit this little device has been a tremendous help.My travel router only has one ethernet port on it for connectivity, which makes this a great companion piece. It works pretty well, it is not the fastest thing in the world, but it sure beats using whatever is just there. I like knowing I can have my tech set up the way I want it to be wherever I go, and this lets me do that.Small enough to easily pack in a little travel case along with my router and the few USB C and short ethernet cords I need to get everything set up.

When I ordered this, I figured I could use a little 5-port switch for occasional use…but I just assumed it would be the size of every other 5 port switch. Nope! This little thing literally fits in the palm of my hand! (For reference, I see that another reviewer “Micah” posted a photo of this switch next to a typical NG one). It’s a basic unmanaged 1 Gbps switch…no frills…plastic casing…might not be the most durable item…but it works fine and…it’s so tiny and lightweight!Sure, you can use this for wired expansion in a home office. But due to its size, weight, and USB-C powering (i.e. no wall-wart), I can see this living in my laptop bag for the occasional use in sharing a wired network port. Another use I can see is perhaps combining this switch with one of those tiny travel routers (GL) that typically only have two ports (one WAN port, one LAN port) for a LAN/game party, family vacation/hotel, etc.Bottom Line:Above things considered, I like this little switch. The tiny size, weight, and USB-c power makes it…well nifty!

We own a few Cudy routers so their products have demonstrated a reliable track record for us - so we decided to try this 5 port switch. As we have expanded the office to include 2 new workstations, it was my choice to pull a new 'home run' to the patch panel or incorporate this little switch...I chose the latter! It's as small as it can be physically, and still have 5 sockets for an RJ485 - one position lost to the act of daisy chaining - we get 4 usable ports out of the device.True to description, this is a gigabit bandwidth switch. The switch is powered by a USB C power cable (included) which is fine because our power strips have USB A power sockets on them, so no extra power brick is required. Just as quickly as we plugged in the cables, the switch came alive...flashing to signal connectivity & data coursing through the connections. The LED indicators (green in color) are not in the sockets as with some switches, instead they are behind a line of holes in the case. Apparently this was done to conserve physical size - it's the smallest network switch we've ever seen or used!It has proven itself over the past 16 days to be a reliable link for our thin client PCs and a network connected printer. Once again, Cudy has delivered a great working (and tiny) product to keep us connected. Running 24/7, it barely gets warm on the outside of it's white plastic case.It works well, has a very good price point and is almost noticeable in the nest of wiring that comprises our setup. Two thumbs up - Cudy has done it again!

REALLY small. The only thing I have against it is how light it is. The cables weigh more than this does. be sure to use double-sided adhesive or the screw mounts on the bottom to keep it in place.works perfectly.Instructions were on the minimal side, don't indicate which is the link port, but using the picture in the manual that didn't precisely match the item received, I connected the router to the port nearest the power cable, and it worked fine.

I needed a splitter to connect a new video surveillance camera to my internal internet system. The Cudy GS105U 5 Port Gigabit Ethernet Switch with USB-C Power Jack Desktop Ethernet Splitter worked great. My need was not complicated but important to me. I read the enclosed instructions carefully, followed them and connected my new camera system. It was easy and it worked well. I did not see any delay or speed loss.I could not be more pleased for this easy installation I have additional ports available for other connections.

Bought this to use to get more ports from my main router for some mini pcs. Never used Cudy before but they seem to be the only ones offering small USB-C powered switches. Works great, very low power. Build quality is good.
