Plug-and-Play Mesh Installation

Connect the PoE adapter LAN port to a Cudy Mesh AP/router/Mesh unit/VPN Router/AC to add the new AP to the Mesh network. Feel free to unplug it or keep using Ethernet backhaul after pairing. (Requires firmware newer than 1.15.28, the other Cudy Mesh device needs to be purchased separately)

Ein wirklich tolles Produkt, welches auf Anhieb funktionierte. Die Beschreibung auch in deutscher Sprache war kurz aber verständlich.Die Einrichtung war einfach und schnell erledigt. Ich habe die Antenne im AP Modus laufen und decke damit den ganzen Garten ab.Schade, dass der Client- Modus zusammen mit FRITZ!Box nicht geht. Dann hätte man nur einen Zugangspunkt.

Acheté car manque de portée wifi en extérieur avec des répéteurs classique. Cette antenne extérieure a réglé mon problème ! Possibilité de l'installer comme un point d'accès autonome mais également comme un répéteur.

In order just to set this thing up you need to go to the cudyap.net URL which triggered my Bitdefender software and Windows software as dangerous. I had to skip attempts by my security software to go to cudyap.net and when I did, Bitdefender had to block attempts to access my system. Once there and after the attempts I chose to go ahead and go through their setup and it appeared to work ok. Then when I tried to access the internet via my Netgear router via their POE inserter and Ethernet, it claimed I needed to be authorized and just would not work. Buyer beware of their setup risk and if it works at all.

I needed this to cover the cameras around the property. All are 2.4 which has a longer range than 5 anyway. They connect to this unit from about 150fy line of sight with no issues

After trying the other Wifi repeaters (Wavlink) with no luck and horrible instructions, this Cudy unit worked out of the box. Much easier and better instructions and user experience and was online and working within 3-5 minutes and best of all over doubled my wifi speed into my metal building from outside. I'm even a very technical person so can usually figure stuff out but the other products were way to complicated. Kudo's to Cudy!

I needed more coverage while I was outside and this worked perfectly for me. My cell signal isn't that great in my area, so I need to be on WiFi when I'm outside. My primary focus was to expand my WiFi coverage, so I installed a POE line from existing router and connected to this AP. The setup was pretty easy as I have used other Cudy products. Even if you haven't it is still an easy setup. As soon as it was up and running, I didn't have to do anything after that. It's been through a few rain and snow and it's been working great. The speed was slightly slower than when I'm close to my main router, but it serves my purpose as is. The build quality is great and it can withstand any weather (so far so good). I'm very happy with this AP!

This is a straightforward outdoor WiFi access point which, as is common for outdoor APs, comes with a pre-installed vertical pole mount. It supports 802.11ac/WiFi 5 with 2x2 MIMO on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz. There is no support for DFS channels, 160MHz channel width, or WPA3. Power is exclusively via PoE, which is expected for an outdoor AP, and works fine through my PoE+ switch.The AP is easy to set up once it boots - there's a wizard which guides you through the various configuration option, including AP/Router/WISP/Extender mode and other basic settings, and the interface for changing configuration after that is easy to use. Unfortunately it's also rather basic in terms of feature set - there are a few diagnostic tools, but there's no way as far as I can tell to set up a guest network on a separate VLAN. This is fine if you trust all the devices (or none of the devices) on your network and don't want to segment them off from each other, but if not it's a nice thing to have. Also, while the software is clearly based on OpenWRT there's no way to access the normal web interface with the full feature set. These limitations are both consistent with other Cudy network devices I've reviewed, but are still disappointing. I checked to see if newer firmware might make a difference, but while the updated version I found on the Cudy website advertises VLAN support, I can't find it anywhere in the UI.Performance at least is solid - testing with Speedtest my Pixel and Thinkpad which both have WiFi 6 support, I get a consistent 550-700Mbps worth the 1G uplink. I think that overall this AP will be perfectly fine if you have a simple network topology and don't need advanced features, but my existing APs already use a separate guest network at home so I'm not sure what I'll do with it long term.

I have a large property and pretty much everything is wifi connected; sprinkler controller, smart temperature controller, sum pump monitor, lights, computers, etc. I have three routers on each floor but my garage has weak wifi coverage. This Cudy outdoor AC1200 gigabit wireless access point fits the bill. (The actual model name is Cudy AP1300).The Cudy was a breeze to get up and running – absolutely no problems changing SSIDs and move to a static IP. The side green LED indicator lights started negotiating right away.What I really like with this Cudy is that besides being an access point and even a full function router, it is also a Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) device. It runs at 24 volts passive PoE and comes with the power injector if needed. The actual max power draw is 12 watts, 2.5 watts when idle. After running it for a few hours it remained very cool.Being a PoE was great since I already use PoE on other devices. I can put the Cudy access point anywhere without looking for a 120 volt plug to power an adapter. I just plug it in – one wire. It is also advertised as suitable for outdoors. It is IP65, shielded from rain and dust, and has a working temperature range from -4 to 140 degrees. This is perfect for my dusty unheated garage.It offers both 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz speeds. The Ethernet port is 10/100Mbps and so the 5 GHz is up to 867 Mbps and the 2.4 GHz is up to 300 Mbps. Under ideal conditions, 5 GHz can get up to 1300 Mbps. So based on the data specs and my needs, my primary use for this access point is under 2.4 GHz. This band reaches longer distances and speed is not my concern since many of my devices use 2.4 GHz. Connectivity and signal strength is what I need for my smart devices – perfect.My initial test showed a good and strong signal – even stronger than one of my other routers. The advertised range is up to 100ft in the woods and 550 ft in an open field with beamforming. The Cudy access point also has transmit power control so I can adjust the coverage range down to just the garage.This is a great access point when you need to boost your wifi coverage for an area on your property. It is actually designed for outdoor use. The back is molded for outdoor pole mounting but you can also mount it on a wall. The bottom access cover on the Cudy even has a restraining strap so you don’t drop it while up on a pole. Outside you can cover areas like a driveway, deck, barn, yard, or pool area. Your PoE switch or included power injector can be back in the house and all you need to run outside is the Ethernet line.Nice full function, compact, rain and dust shielded, wifi access point.
