This is the only filter I will use in my house. I have a housing on the water that comes into our house, simply because we live in a 1915 house and the water lines to our house are not good for anything in our house. The size is spot on, fits perfectly in the housing. I change it when it gets red with rust. It’s made a huge difference in our shower. Would get a lot of iron on the shower curtain, that has dramatically decreased. The only thing I’d change is I’d like it to be a 2-pack, but that’s my only complaint.

These filters do a fantastic job managing hard water. We are on a well and using this filter in a whole house filter setup has greatly improved our water quality. It is also much easier to replace a single house filter than multiple faucet filters.

I've been using these filters for a while now due to the sediment in our well water. However I'm concerned about the strong chemical/plastic taste when the filter is first replaced. Even though I ran the water for a good 20 minutes, it took another day of use before the taste went away. But what about levels of some undesirable chemical or plastic that I can't taste?
