Bolted and welded in without having to move anything off car. (I would recommend also welding for extra security) Pulled a 4x8 trailer with 1000 pound toolbox from FL to IL. No problems at all.

Bought this receiver NEW. Everything about the packaging appeared as expected and the welds on the receiver look great. Only thing missing is the fasteners. Checked the manual and confirmed they're supposed to be included and manual even lists the part numbers. Not a big deal as I was headed to the store anyways. HD only had low grade steel for this size fastener, so I went ahead and called CURT.CURT customer service stated it was part 11488-BK for the fastener kit and insisted I must have received a unit previously returned to Amazon despite there is nothing to suggest that from the package I received. CURT rep wouldn't send me the fasteners nor even direct me to a place the fastener kit can be purchased.CURT rep pressed that I should hassle with a full exchange with Amazon which wound up being out of stock for the entire month of January. Petty of CURT for only a few tiny fasteners. Okay CURT cheapskates...I'll no longer be buying your bike rack or cargo carrier. Avoid this CURT hitch.

Bought this to put a bike rack on my 2005 Scion xA. The holes in the hitch line up perfectly with the threaded holes that are already on the frame. Had to pop the rear-most exhaust hanger out and pull the 4 plastic bumper clips off, then it just slides right over the muffler and fits perfectly. It's very low profile and you can barely even tell it's there unless you're looking hard. Awesome hitch.

I installed this on a 2006 Scion Xa. With it, I towed a Harley Sportster on a 500 pound trailer from Michigan to Florida. I might have been a little over the to limit. My car didn't like it, but the trailer hitch held up, and I never feared losing my load. Really great product!

Yes you have to Remove your bumper panel to install and lower your muffler an inch and buy 4 new lock nuts to replace the ones that hold the panel in place. Took about 1 hour to insrall. The hitch looks well made.

this is my second curt hitch. happy with the quality.I also ordered their ball mount and ball. will order another if needed for a future vehicle

This unit was very easy to install. The car is pre-drilled and the holes lined up nicely. The bulk of the hitch is concealed by the bumper. Only the receiver portion shows.
