Didn't make it a year and it's covered in rust. Will try to clean it off but highly unlikely it will come off. Junk.

I recently lost the hitch cover I had with the ring that was suppose to hold it in place. I bought this one from Curt because it would be held in by a trailer pin, and WOW! If you have a chrome bumper on your truck like me, this looks great and high quality. Since this is held in by a trailer hitch pin (not included) I know this setup will never fall off.I had one small issue. There is a rubber grommet around the shaft up against the back of the chrome plate. While this is a great idea to prevent rattling, that grommet is thick and well made and made it hard to push the cover in far enough for the holes to line up for the pin. You can remove the grommet but I chose to just add some significant pressure so that the holes would line up and I could insert the pin.I've always known Curt to make quality products and this is no exception.

Bought a lot of stuff from Amazon over the years, never returned anything or written a review. This is the first time I have felt compelled to do so. This is certainly not a big ticket item, but I am very disappointed with the quality versus the description and photos. The chrome finish on this hitch cover is just plain bad...it is pitted and scratched, looks like chrome was applied with a wire brush. Can't imagine it won't be long before it starts to rust. Also can't be bothered with the effort to return it, will just buy something better.

This appears to be single chrome plated. Not a polished mirror finish like CURT hitch balls which are plated numerous times to a very smooth high quality appearance. It will most likely rust pretty soon but it’s cheap enough to replace or just paint it black or silver or clear coat it. I’ve seen a polished Stainless Steel version which won’t rust and looks like polished chrome but is quite a bit more expensive.
