They are able to tow most standard-duty and heavy-duty trailers such as utility trailers, boat trailers, campers, livestock trailers and recreational vehicle trailers for hauling ATVs, snowmobiles, personal watercraft and more. These tow balls are an excellent extension of your class 3 or class 4 trailer hitch and ball mount, and are the ideal choice for most pickup trucks and SUVs (NOTE: Never exceed the lowest weight capacity of any towing component; i.e. the vehicle, hitch, trailer, etc).This particular 2" trailer ball offers a ball capacity of 3,500 lbs. It features a 3/4" shank diameter, a 2-1/8" shank length, 0" of rise and a stainless steel finish to protect against rust and scratches. With its fine-threaded shank, this 2" trailer ball also offers an added measure of holding strength and provides smooth installation and torqueing. The stainless ball is of good quality. The standard nut and lock washer are not stainless. So kind of defeats the purpose. I bought stainless ball as I didn't want the rust to be an issue. I am always near Salt water, so the regular nut and lock washer will now rust up.

Hated to spend this much on a trailer ball, but got tired of getting rust on my pants or leg every time I touched the hitch getting something out of the back of the vehicle.

Only comment by husband who requested and installed was his surprise that hex nut was not stainless, otherwise what expected. Description of nut does indicate plated.

This hitch ball rusted out in less than 2 weeks It is supposed to be stainless steel and the reason I purchased this was to replace a rusting one. Now I have the new one already rusted out

I wished I’d bought one of these years ago. Use it then pull it off your vehicle... wipe it off and it will last for decades. Chrome gets scratched and rusts fast.

This ball is well manufactured. No signs of imperfections. The nuts spins easily up the bolt threads. The stainless steel should provide many years of rust-free service.
