as many here have said this is not a genuine curt product its a china forgery and it DOES NOT WORK.. worked for half a trip then left us on the side of the road because it was shorting into ground when using the turn signals tripping the trailer brakes every blink of the turn signals!! would have cost a transmission if I didn't catch it.MY advice if you have a flatbead is, clip the signal wires yellow/greed on the center lights right and left and splice them into stop/brake separately and the outer lights leave turn/hazards. Bypass the need for this type of product all together so you don't risk it burning out and leaving you on the side of the road.

Easy to install after I found the turn signals and stop wires. Now my trailer is legal and safe with both stop and turn signals AND I didn’t need extra lights or wires. Don’t hesitate to purchase this great addition to your vehicle’s trailer light system. Now any trailer I tow has legal lights.

Hooked the wires up as indicated on the module. Wasn't working quite right for the trailer lights. I changed the flasher to an aftermarket Wagner one - then worked perfectly. Not sure how I came to that conclusion about trying another flasher but it worked. Says it not for trailers with led lights, haven't tried it though. They make powered ones for trailers with led lights. You don't need any additional hookups for this one, like a 12volt power source.

My application is a vehicle with wiring for separate turn and brake lights but only has a pair of stop light . I wanted to convert them to turn signal and stop lights. The device has three input wires (Red = brake, Green = Right Turn, and Yellow = Left Turn). The device has two output wires (Green = Turn and Stop, and Yellow = Turn and Stop). It says it does not work on LED bulbs, but I could not get it to work with regular 1157 bulbs. I order it again thinking it was the device. Second one doesn't work either. Calling customer service for CURT was very disappointing. The customer service rep said because I had the same problem with a second device, then the problem was on my end and he refused to discuss this basic electrical circuit. Completely useless and not helpful. This has nothing to do with a vehicle. It doesn't work on a test bench with non-LED bulbs.

I brought this thinking it would work on my Australian 2021 SR5 Toyota Hilux. I wanted to use one of those UTE LED tail light strips as they don’t have a seperate wire for the brake light. Instead, they use the turn signal to trigger the brake LED. So if that’s what you’re trying to do, this device won’t do it.

This perfectly solved my problem of trying to wire my trailer using a 4-pin connector to a car with separate turn signals and brake lights. You do have to wire it in, but it is small and has self-adhesive tape to stick it to the tail light itself. The only difficult part is to run a wire from the opposite side turn signal across the back of the car. You will need to manually splice in the wires to your harness or use wiretaps not included.

I read the reviews, saw the good ones and the bad ones, and thought "for the price, I might as well try it out". I have been in the process of switching my trailer lights out to LED - first the marker lights, then I was going to do the signal / brake lights. After reading some reviews about this unit performing better with incandescent bulbs, I decided to leave the signal / brake lights as the original incandescent lights and wire up the converter. I have a 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 and it has discrete signal and brake lights. This converter has combined them nicely and the trailer lights work perfectly. I have read reviews that this converter doesn't hold up after time, but so far all my testing has been successful. I'll update if things change over time, but for now I would definitely recommend this product.

Worked like a charm and costs half of the cheapest one I can get locally. Easy to wire. The bottom of the converter has a big adhesive pad on it and the converter itself is smaller than it might seem in the picture. It's roughly the size of a pack of playing cards. The wires are quite long (close to a foot each) making it easy to place. All you really need is to figure out which wires you need to splice into and you should be good to go! The way I did that was I found a connector nearby on the same wire loom that was going to some of the tail lights on the SUV. I disconnected it, and checked each pin with a multimeter while triggering various lights (one at a time) to find left/right/stop/tail pins. Then I noted the wire color going into that particular pin and spliced into each of those wires a little earlier in the wire loom.

Nice Tail Light Converter. My tail light converter died. It was powered by the battery and some how it was toast the last time I hooked it up. I saw this baby and thought..."If I change out my system to LED and power with the regular light system, I wouldn't need extra power and my light would be very bright." Genius, I did just that and my systems works better than ever, and I didn't break the bank. I soldered the connections and used heat shrink tubing; it all took me about 2.5 hours (that included rewiring the trailer and replacing the nasty old filament lights with LEDs). Remember: one star reviews are for terrible products (10% of the time) and written by those challenged by ****** the other 90% of the time. This will probably be screened by Amazon big brother, but it felt good to write. Get the converter, it works.
