The material is very thin and therefore makes it hard to lay flat when opening up the flap. You cannot roll dice on this flap. Better off buying a separate dice holder and rolling tray. Great idea but not functional for a dice rolling mat.

I was worried that having a mat that rolls up would be hard to lay flat on the table when it’s time to use, but I’ve been using it for a few weeks to play dnd and it doesn’t give me any issues. The first time I opened it, I rolled it against the edge of the table like you would with a wrinkly dollar bill and that seemed to be all it needed to be conditioned to lay flat. No complaints so far!

Incorporating your dice tray and dice container into one nice sleek product is a wonderful idea. I got this for a gift, but was almost tempted to get one for myself. The only thing that kept me from this is that I primarily use heavy metal dice and it’s important that my dice stay in my rolling tray and not scratching on the table.So if you use plastic dice and aren’t worried about your dice rolling off of the leather pad, this product is not only a good idea for you but is the best possible product I’ve seen for your play style.
